It goes without saying but take it easy.
Thanks mate.
I will make an effort to be far more reflective about what I do! It is not as if I was doing anything heavy before it happened, a little light wood-butchery was all. and caring for Pat as she was ill.
But that is the way it goes. I think in fact sitting in one particular type of chair for long periods of time is partly to blame. It feels supportive, but just might not be. I have awful posture at the ebst of time, when sitting. possibly due to this having been with me since I was 17. It is a wood backed dining chair, but I will endeavour to stay out of it for the next few days!
I wonder if others have their own pet remedies?
:):):)

You poor sod, :(:(:(
If I tell you that within two weeks I TWICE came down the stairs and stepped off the last one onto our tiled hall floor to find a dog had peed there. I was in the raw and my bare foot just flew from under me. The first time I landed on my right forearm and not only hurt it but jarred my elbow and shoulder. The forearm is OK, the elbow is still painful I must have pulled tendons on the inside of the joint, and I jarred the shoulder too, which is gedtting better.
Then a few days later, exactly the same thing again only this time the other foot went from under me. Much less damage although m,y left thumb, the one I broke last winter, showed blood around the nail and is now a bit back fromm where it was in its recovery!
Boy did I swear.
We have since put a mat down there.
What was annoying was that the second time I could smell it but could not see it. (The light switches for the hall are not near the stairs, serious design fault on behalf of the builders, and although I switched no a small taable lamp we put in to counteract the problem, it was still invisible. I should have felt for it with my hand!)
To be fair to the dogs, one of bitches is on and she is drinking lots of water as she is doing the biz with here rear end. So her pee is very nearly colourless. And so she also asks to be let out during the night, which is when it happened, both times.
But I don't envy you having to clear up that mess, especially on your jeans. Hope they weren't a favourite pair and yes, I absolutely feel your pain, in fact it may have contributed in some way to what is up with my back at the mo!

She may need her pee tested, diabetes?

Varies but i have known it take over a week. I will take pain killers and try to do a lot of walking which is natures way, but if it doesn't improve quickish I'll get my "Calanetics for your Back" book out and do the exercises twice a day.
Last year I tried to find a chiroprator but there is only one some distance away and he/she was away on holiday. so I went to an osteopath and her stand-in had a go. I was nowhere near as bad then as I am now but it was in an annoying place and stopping me from working with my right shoulder. What she did though weird seeming to me, did in fact help it a lot.
The pain today is much worse and debilitating but i recognise it and know how to deal with it. In the UK one session, possibly two, with a decent, strong chiro sorts me out, but it has to be a strong man or woman, (never met a wimmins yet who can do it!) They perform a special manoeuvre it all cracks and whoosh, I'm off again. The dodgy vertebra(e) is/are just simply put back into place.
The problem is how I did it in the first place. (1972) If I had done it the conventional way, i.e. by lifting too heavy a weight awkwardly, then it would be easier to fix.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
But thanks for asking!:)
Ouch! I feel your pain, honest!
One time I had to crawl backwards up the stairs to my bed because I could not stand up. I lay there for an hour or 2 then grabbed my legs (behind my knees) and pulled as hard as could to pull my knees towards my shoulders and "POP!" a sound/feeling and the pain was diminished by 90%. My chiro had a specific manoeuvre to un-crick backs, and very effective it was too! He called it his £50 "fix" (because that is what he charged to do it).
I hope you get yourself sorted ASAP and the pain becomes manageable.

Don't let @kevstar know where it is, he'll be at it with 'is forklift n trailer :p

I called the hire company this morning to confirm "when" they will be wanting their scaffold tower back.
I was delighted to find that it was to be tomorrow (Tuesday) morning , so I have been up there 9-5 today and have managed to paint the between floors panels of the bay.
2 coats of brilliant-white masonry paint and 1 coat of gloss on the mock beams. I can do the rest from my ladders now.
It is looking pretty crisp and clean again for an 84 year old building.
When the new "All Black" windows go in it will further define the bay and the horizontal lines top and bottom of each set of windows in black.
Pretty-pleased so far (although I am aching like a ba$tard as a result of all the effort expended (I am clearly very much out of shape)).
