She may need her pee tested, diabetes?
Seriously?
Never thought of that. She is a young and hugely active dog. The vets have always said she is very fit and healthy.
But I'll mention it to them and see what they say. We have never had a dog with this so don't know what to look out for. If it help her breath does not smell of sweet apples which I thought was a sign.
(That is very old skool though.)

Ouch! I feel your pain, honest!
One time I had to crawl backwards up the stairs to my bed because I could not stand up. I lay there for an hour or 2 then grabbed my legs (behind my knees) and pulled as hard as could to pull my knees towards my shoulders and "POP!" a sound/feeling and the pain was diminished by 90%. My chiro had a specific manoeuvre to un-crick backs, and very effective it was too! He called it his £50 "fix" (because that is what he charged to do it).
I hope you get yourself sorted ASAP and the pain becomes manageable.

Been there, done that! It so often comes on at unexpected times and you can never see why. I sometimes pick up 50 kilo bags of cement or concrete mix and put them int the back of the disco then unload em again, pour em into a barrow or whatever, ditto blocks , gravel, I can spend all day shovelling and barrowing gravel. In fact the year after I injured my self I started working in a job where I was loading trolleys, wheeling them all over the place then unloading them again. Or unloading lorries. I did this for a year and a half and my back never bothered me. It only came back when I worked less physically, so that is probably the long term cure, get damn fit!

By the way, your chiro is expensive. The going rate last time I went was £35 odd and I think the Chiropractic Association, or whatever they are called, fixes the prices, or at least has a scale. Hmmmm!
Your leg exercise is the first thing I do, but it doesn't usually click back in like that, worse luck! I wonder if your chiro's manoeuvre is the same as mine, he leans across my bod, which is kinda on my side, one leg up I think. He hooks his arms through mine and pushes me with his knee then jerks me towards him a bit, so my back is kinda twisted all the time. then you hear distinct clicks, sometimes I even click a bit just moving into the position he needs! Then he repeats it on the other side.

I called the hire company this morning to confirm "when" they will be wanting their scaffold tower back.
I was delighted to find that it was to be tomorrow (Tuesday) morning , so I have been up there 9-5 today and have managed to paint the between floors panels of the bay.
2 coats of brilliant-white masonry paint and 1 coat of gloss on the mock beams. I can do the rest from my ladders now.
It is looking pretty crisp and clean again for an 84 year old building.
When the new "All Black" windows go in it will further define the bay and the horizontal lines top and bottom of each set of windows in black.
Pretty-pleased so far (although I am aching like a ba$tard as a result of all the effort expended (I am clearly very much out of shape)).

It does look lovely, and with the all black frames in will look even better. Just hope to fu ck the window fitters respect what you've done and don't cause you to have to go back and make good. :):):)

Thanks for the thoughts re my back.

You have made a mess, not like you, don't suppose it'll be there for long!:):):)

Good evening from Morden.
When you look at directions & 1 way is 40mins quicker. Then I realise too late it’s through London.still the m25 was blocked again.
Now someone must educate cyclists to have both lights on in the dark (or even have some lights would be a bonus)
tis still illegal but they never have a number plate on so that you can report em!!!!!
And if you nudge them over then you are in the wrong. Can of spray paint with a remote button in the cab?
Or even just a normal windscreen wash jet, at the right angle?!

Hurahurahura!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D

Only one more day then 5 days off :) it is our 31st wedding anniversary on Wednesday. This time last year we were in Australia!
Looks like we will be in lockdown for the celebration this year :(
We were lucky, we celebrated our 30th year after our first meeting, (which we do as well as the wedding cos we likes celebrations) in the short patch of time there was after we came over here. Although technically they are not closed again yet.
Why not just have a "Gala night in"? nothing to stop you buying in champagne, truffles, salmon, steak, bubble bath, etc etc???!!!!!!
Haver a good one anyway!:):):):):)

Congrats! :D
It is my 45th Anniversary in 13 days time, I dread to think what this one is going to cost me.
Surely it can't be as expensive as flying to Australia to celebrate it? Tell her you ain't got no money as you spent it all on doing up the front of the house! Or don't "domestics" count, must admit they don't in our house!
Anyway, have a lovel time. 45 years is a good stretch!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Our Collie cross used to bark at everyone but now she is 11 she reserves the barking for anyone who dares enter the property :)
Including me
If our three happen to be out they too bark at anyone walking or riding past. As we are on a GR that means it can be large groups. They shut up eventually if I call em back in and people just wave and shout "Bonjour". Lots of dogs in our area, most places have one.

Ours are always behind metal gates so the peeps feel safe.:):):)

Morning All :D
Scaffold "Tower-of-Torture" is over, they came and collected it at 9AM. :)
I shall be doing the rest of it off my ladders. Since posting my progress on Face-Crook I have had an offer of a free loan of this style of tower or of a cherry-picker. :)
2nd coat of gloss on the beams of the mid-bay(s) section today and then white paint on the walls. Finally gloss the tiled window-sills.
Another lovely day here (weather-wise) so no excuses not to do it. ;)
Have a great day everyone. :D
Gotta be the cherry picker, every time, safer, more room to put your stuff and easier than having to find a place to prop your ladder to.:D:D:D:D:D

So anyway, mornin to all. We had a storm last night again so the system had to be disconnected again.
Mind you I had seized up so laid on the sofa till 8.30 then went to bed with a few of wifey's knockout drops inside my tum. Woke up groggy this a.m. taking it very easy and trying not to stay in one position for too long.
Was a bit easier on getting up but won't be doing any bending. :(:(:(
Parrottseatemall and Ibumyoufren for me today!:D:D:D:D

Afternoon folks :)
Its been an office type day today not much actual labour put out.

Spoke with DVLA and hope this call will now finally get the logbook right on the Zed and i can get it changed over here before the system goes stupid and they have an excuse to charge all sorts of made up costs:D.

Also spoke with HMRC and got all our NRL numbers sorted. Also preped paperwork for the dreaded self assessments.
So We thinks that successful day deserves a drink :) cos we can:D.

What did you do to red card him/her? Our rescue boarder collie is still a work in progress, she likes to bark ferociously at anything that she thinks can move faster than her, especially people on bikes. She has earned herself something of a reputation locally, joggers no longer run past our house. It's a good thing she is comical and cute in equal measures or she would have driven me mad.

Dressed in my night attire, I plodded down to his vantage point at the bottom of the garden, complete with his collar and lead. At the same time I issued a firm instruction to stop the fun, 'or 'else'. He stopped dead. looked at me and wagged his tale - I'll swear there was a smile on his face! We met in the bushes and the collar was firmly placed around his neck. He was quite happy to accompany me back to the house, admitting that although it was fun at the time, it was me 1 and him 0. He went to bed and slumbered on for another couple of hours. :) A Beardie is very different in behaviour to a Border Collie!:):):)
