We are retired too:) So if we want a midweek day off we do, cause we can:D.

Yes, don't we just!
Just checked the temps, 37 in the shade, pool is at 27. Sun not exactly shining but too warm to close it up. Deffo a dip afore tea!:):)
Dutch friends coming for a swim tomorrow affo then off to farmers market for some good nosh an a bottle of rosé, where we will meet old friends. Altho peeps tell me only half the stall holders are going there at the mo.:(
Whether some have gone bust, don't get enough customers to make it worthwhile or whether they are just being super careful, we just don't know.:(:(
(Still can't find the bliddy wasp nest):(

I managed to drag my enthusiasm out of the bed and took it for a walk. :D

It is with great sadness that I have to report on the demise of "Elsa" who is no longer "FROZEN".
She has served this family well for over 25 years providing crushed/cubed ice and chilled water on demand and looking after all of our frozen & fresh foods. Sadly she expired in the sweltering heat yesterday/today and now cannot get below 10-c in the freezer and 20c in the fridge section.
£1200 back in the mid nineties so it has been excellent value.
New updated one will be here Weds. Yes, I could possibly call a man out to check if she just needs a re-gas; but its been running without a break for 25 yrs+ so maybe the compressor is worn out. Time for a change then.

Our friends cannot make their mind up if they are coming up the mountain for a swim this affo or not, sending us opposite messages every few minutes.
Will still give the pool a bit of a "vacuum clean" as it needs it anyway.
But had thunder all night in the distance further along the Montagne Noire and heard a bit this morning too. (Have to disconnect the Sosh box and thus the phone if it gets too close, so might even miss their messages, lol!)
Farmer's market down in the valley this evening, unless it belts it down with rain of course.
Rain predicted from about 14:30 on, less up here, but as we have a micro climate, who knows? Who knew not knowing exactly what the weather will be like could be so much fun?

Sorry to hear this! She looks F off big, very tall. In cubic inches must be about 2 bodys' worth standing up!
Bet you had fun getting it into the room. Unless you have a good straight run to the door. We had to take the doors off the one in France and the handles of the one in the UK and neither of ours is as tall as this one. Sure you'll miss her.
Any chance of an insurance claim on the lost food? Or would it not beat the loading yet still cost you next year in premiums? Insurance: "lending you an unmbrella when it isn't raining then taking it away again when the clouds come over" :(:(:(
