They're probably concerned they may rub and cause a saw or blister. They probably just wanted to be able to check they fitted ok. If they dunt then eye've gorra a file and eye made some gloves ooter crisp packits ut wuk ferdey.
They did consider that a fitting would be necessary but as the oap isolation is for 12 weeks at least, then we think it is essential that we have them to give it a try . They don't seem too bad but he will go for the proper fitting when normality has returned to the world!

Oooo I've not had a nice fresh donut in ages... Mmm

An won't be for a while yet I fear.

They've shut Greggs too, the pyjama brigade are mobilising, it won't be pretty
(obviously, have you seen the state of 'em?)
In other news, the queue to the McDees drive through in Fareham threatened to block the adjacent main road. Dear God..:oops:
I, it appears, am not old enough or already poorly enough to honestly get out of driving to work tomorrow (small private company). Elsewhere in the public sector, so many civil servants are self isolating the local council are asking for volunteers. VOLUNTEERS!
I'm afraid this is going to be a defining time for us. On the whole, am not impressed so far.

Grumpy, not so old bugger, signing off.
Take care pips. :)

It's hardly a necessary purchase, sending delivery drivers round the country. Am i over reacting?
The normal couriers are still doing their rounds and seem to be as busy as usual round 'ere. I would not like to see any of them to go 'down the pan' as we rely on them for much of our purchasing. I'm waiting for three deliveries at the moment.:)

I have got loads of jobs to do at home. Big jobs. But I am well stocked up with building supplies and jam jar maintenance supplies. I was finking I must pace myself and not work too hard otherwise I will run out of jobs to do too soon. But reality says when we get to the end of this cry sis I will look back and remember all the things I should have done when I had the time

UPDATE
Husband phoned the dental surgery this morning to confirm that 'the teeth' were now available - they are.
Now, he asked if they would post them - no
would they put them outside at a set time ready for me to collect - no
many reasons/excuses given until they finally said that the chance of them being right without them being 'fitted' ie filed down where they 'catch, was low, to which my husband replied that the chances of them fitting when they were being held in their drawer for however long was even lower ie. NIL!
Eventually, they agreed that they would bag them up and put them outside if we rang them to say that we were sitting in the car outside.

I DO UNDERSTAND THE DIRE SITUATION WE ARE IN but can't help but think we have come up against a 'job's worth'. This is not a town or city of millions, it is a rural area with few people and at no point were they being asked to be in contact with anyone else!

I sorted my Dads noo teeth with a Dremel thingy ...

It takes time anyway, different foods make the teeth push harder in one place more than others ... and as you age your gums shrink ...

And it a satisfyingly destructive thing to do ...

Our thinking is just that - it takes time for them to 'bed in' so he would be better with the teeth in his mouth instead of them sitting in their drawer. At least that way he would be able to give them a fair trial before they adjust them.
