Fair enough Fanny
Was just a thought - I'm by no means on here a lot but have been fairly regular since joining. I just tend to look at the Fender section first and only occasionally dive across to Anything Goes or General Stuff.
Can I try another silly suggestion - would a duplicate thread with a slightly different title generate more responses? Not criticising in any way, more a little sad so many have viewed but not supported
Will go back to being quiet now

A good question which I will try to answer
1) yes we could have general section fund raising, but would find actual pledge to payment conversion lower- also the act of giving should be free from feeling obligation to from peer pressure.
2) I'm a firm believer in low key approach with targeted support reaching the actual individual instead of swallowed up by administration.
3) to save infighting and prove money reached cause I provide proof and encourage people to verify with cause they received items.
with regards general section if someone wants to link to this thread stating scout group fund raising- please feel free.

Would it be considered spam if I posted a link to it in all of the forums xxx
Cheers Fanny
Not met you but have seen enough of you on the forum to not need any proof
Understand totally re the free from obligation piece
Just happy to join in and support
Absolutely
If someone's good idea leads to doing something great for some kids that would really appreciate it, that's plenty enough for me
I'm not sure links all over the forum will be very helpful. It didn't really produce any surge of interest in LZ10 and I don't imagine this would be any different.
People are drawn to busy and active threads and while I understand not everyone spends time in AG it's not a LR related thread.
If anyone wants to chat about it elsewhere, or put up a link to here where relevant, that's fine, threads go a little off topic all the time but anyone going on a 'mission' to spread the word will likely do more harm than good
Wow!!! LZ and the massive are just amazing. Funnily enough I bumped into the GSL at the local primary school 125th celebration today and he mentioned doing a family camp for both sections together so this would amazingly fit the bill perfectly as at the moment we have a total of about 14 lads across both sections.
Haven't mentioned LZ to him yet as I don't want to excite the old boy too early.
I'm hopefully popping by Costco in Cardiff tomorrow to sound out the manager about a deal on some hike tents they have in stock that would do the job. Problem being costco need a member to do the transaction but of course I'm a member so he might be Ok with using my member number to trigger the transaction but use someone else's debit card for payment.
Love this thread it's great to be able to give something to kids from a 3rd world country
