All sorted! New belt on and feels pretty tight although I couldnt get the alternator to move to tension it anymore. Took a hell of a lot of persuading to get it on!

I will be working this Sunday

Just when I thought my brakes were finally sorted...

I found some fluid dripping down the brake pedal. The master cylinder is leaking. I checked it out and its a 1" Girling CB type which LRSeries want £511 + vat for.

I'll have a look round and see if I can find a repair kit. I think the other option is changing it for a CV type which is cheaper, but needs a bit of re-plumbing to fit.

I think mine was about £50 if I remember right, surely you can change it to a different one?

Yeh, the plumbing to change to a CV type dosent look that difficult, one pipe to re-route and a new slightly longer one from the reservoir. Maybe I can get the old one one ebay and make a profit! I want to try and avoid the cheapo britpart jobs as I've heard lots of bad things about their brake components.

I did think about a rebuild kit, but a £2 britpart one is going to last 5 minutes and the genuine is £45.

Paddocks have a lockheed CV for £28.50+v which seems pretty reasonable.

Duly signed.

Update on the lack of drive.
Both Halfshafts are fine.
Diff pulled out.
Every bolt holding the crownwheel on has sheered.
Found them all in the bottom of the diff pan.
Fortunately diff to my untrained eyes looks undamaged.
New better bolts should see it sorted.
