lol even though my dad + brother are sparkies i dont own a multimeter -i do the hair standing on end, fingers tingling, smell of burning bacon test to find a live wire ;p
i didnt see anything printed on it when i had it out?
get them to get a megger on it - which will accurately measure the resistance - but they are hardy things and I'd be surprised if it's gone
or wire a 12v bulb through it and see if it glows you have continuity

But be careful, a megger test is the common name for a 500volt insulation test, not quite the low range resistance measurement you're after here.
shoving 250/500 volts across that will do no harm - getting a accurate resistance value is the aim

header 0290 is common to both head/side and fog lighting circuits.
wonder if thats the blue one + if its overheated and melted/fused then would this explain my headlight /foglight woe?

No, it won't do any harm but they do measure megohms not ohms so won't give an accurate reading of the values being dealt with here.

FOUND THE FECKKER!!
that plugs in there pretty tight with no slack in the loom, burned bit was on the reverse side of the plug!
pulled it off, pushed it back on a few mm so the pins just made contact + LIGHTS!! -no alarm too!!
will look for a replacement on monday!!

lol well i know whats causing the problem whith my alarm but not sorted until i find a working replacement -think theres too much current flowing as its pretty burnt in there but the metal pins arent melted, just the plastic??!!
the plug is just above the fuseboard (the 1 behind the gearstick)
it took me ages to find it as its just poking out of the dash -v.little slack in the loom.

yeah my novice mistake shame in not seeing it sooner was greatly overpowered by my elation that i could once again ride the beast any time of day + night!
oh and my neighbours were happy with my alarm not going banzai too.........
