Hi all, any help with this issue would be very much welcomed by my neighbours! My Defender 90 TD5 door locks open with the key fob but then within 1 or 2 seconds the doors seem to lock again while I'm opening the door. I'm left closing the door before the alarm goes off then opening the door with the key but the alarm then goes off anyway. Anyone had this issue or can advise me on resolving it before I get lynched by everyone on my street?

Hi...for anyone who has the same issue i found the problem. The plastic sliding door latch that fits in the plastic surround was catching as the surround was slightly damaged and was putting pressure on the sliding door latch...hope that makes sense! I fitted a new door latch set (12 euros) and problem solved.

Nope, makes no sense whatsoever, good that it's fixed though.
Show us a photo of the part you mean.

Makes sense to me. A few years ago I had what I thought was a door lock mechanism problem but it turned out to be the pastic surround of the lock button which had broken down inside the trim panel and the lock wouldn't latch, or would only do so in the outer catch position. I've not got central locking, but it's a similar kind of problem.

Aha, that makes sense .

Hi, yes, this is the new one but the old piece was deformed and so it wouldnt allow the catch to move freely.
