So it's been a few months since I posted any photos. Not really that much done to be honest..... I rubbed the front bumper and rear cross member down and sprayed them in a satin black. I also relocated the front number plate to the middle. The rear cross member had a couple of rust scabs so took those bits back to the bare metal to make sure all rust was removed. It was only very mild surface rust but its best to get rid of it. Also my modded home made bikini hood is working well with the flexi tent pole sewn into the rear to hold it straight. It still lifts up nicely at about 20mph plus and looks pretty cool. Also painted the front galvanised steering guard with some special paint for going over galvanised steel. All in all I think I'm done on this project. My paint prep obviously wasn't good enough judging by the flaking.... but I think I like the ratty look better than a polished defender lol

Picked up a smooth hard top for this last Friday. Let's just say it was weird driving with a hardtop in 3 bits strapped into the back. Plan is to prep and spray it in my garage (home) with my compressor and some nato green paint. Should have it fitted hopefully within the next few weeks. I just got to buy a rear door now and find out what bolts/bits that I need to get it all fitted.

That's a good idea because you can lay in the foam / carpet / whatever and don't have to hold it until the glue dries like I did with my 88" h/t years ago.

Spent an hour this afternoon prepping one of the side panels. Fully rubbed down with a ra sander (run from my compressor). Filled a small dent. I'll hopefully get it primed and painted next weekend. If it all comes out well then I'll do the other side and roof using the same technique. Photos to come.....
