p0300 misfire of multi cyclinders
p1319

but now just po3oo

Have you checked fuel pressure yet?
For it to suffer misfiring on multiple cylinders, it's unlikely ignition related as it has multiple coils.
Fueling issue would be my guess.

going to check fuel as soon as i get a gauge also been looking at where the filter is ,i placed a thread and was told its in the tank

i assume maybe a dirty fuel filter may course this problem too?

Yes the filter is in the tank. The filter is after the motor but before the pressure regulator. This means that the filter cleans the tank contents all the time the pump is running. If the filter was between the regulator and injectors, the filter would only clean fuel going to the engine.
This strange filter placement will shorten the life of the filter and causes the pump motor to run hot.
The filter should be changed at 36K miles but seldom are. This is why a pressure test is so important ;)

ok i see your point now

so you say connect the gauge to the thing on the fuel rail thats like a bike valve

what psi should it be mate?

The test point is the tyre valve on the fuel rail.
The fuel pressure should hold at around 60 Psi at adle and when the engine is revved up.

You can get away with using a foot pump with a pressure gauge to check fuel pressure
I've used mine in an emergency before now. You will need to strip the pump afterwards to clean out any petrol and re grease the seals though but that's cheaper than buying a dedicated pressure gauge ;)

in 2 minds now lol

but if i get it will it also work for other things like checking vacume pipes etc

The gauge linked will only do fuel pressure. You'll not find many other uses except maybe checking tyres. Use a foot pump and save the cash ;)

not had time to check preasure but managed to order a fuel filter ,will arrive tomorrow either way im sure it could prob do changing lol

well picked up new filter ,hope its the right one as not had time yet to pull old one out ,shop said it was but who knows lol

where does the excess fuel go if no leak off pipe like on a proper gauge

The excess fuel doesn't go anywhere other than staying in the fuel rails, waiting to be injected. This is unique to the V6 Freelander KV6 installation. All other KV6 powered vehicles return unused fuel to the tank, via the pressure regulator. The pressure regulator is in the pump on the KV6 Freelander so a return isn't required.

cool well im off this weekend so the pressure test will be done, filter changed and hopefully get to solve the problem

time will tell

im well ****ed off, never got out to garage till around 1730 and could not find my old foot pump ,and by that time all shops round this area where closed :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

so could not preasure test her ,but i removed the fuel cover plate in boot as pic below shows

right so how do i get in there???
the thin pipe on top (with the green bit on it) i assume is the main fuel line? so will be pressured ? do i just disconnect in engine bay to release the pressure???????

next i assume just unplug the wiring and then some how unscrew the ring thing?

the ring seems to be very very tight!!!!! is there a knack to getting this off????

then is it just a case of pulling the pump out till i can get to the filter?

Fuel line can be de-pressurized by pressing the tyre valve on the fuel rail. Use a rag to catch the spilt fuel. Then unclip the pipe at the pump. The locking ring can removed by tapping it round. A flat screwdriver and hammer works for this. Doing back up is more of a challenge. Alternatively find someone with the correct tool. It's the same as a BMW pump tool. ;)

right the pressure test, with key in to prime pump but not started

now with engine running

is that right ?????

right now to change the filter
ermmm how do i take it apart

think im doing this wrong, next vid shows how far i got before i stopped to ask you guys as do not want to break the pump

Open the clips holding the top bit and the 2 halfs come apart

cool thanks hippo
all done and back together now ,but not solved anything ,its still saying random misfirer when i check for fault codes !!! aaaahhhhhhhh this car is so so making me mad !!!!!

im sure it does not want fixing !!!!

but before i forget the pressure test now when running is a solid 4 bar without shaking

what can i try next ???? the car is hot now so im going to check the front coils again to see if the ohms when there hot are ok

could it be a blocked injector? maybe need some redex stuff????

im fast running out of ideas

ps just for interest after spilling most of it this is the colour of the fuel that came out of the filter
