correct, also can't get pin out for my ecu so working out as I go along and removing known excess wires

I spent a bit of time getting the seats and door cards out of my rotton 79 parts car to recover for the 72 and did some other bits to both other classics. not as cold as you think when you keep busy out there!

If I get a clear run I'm going to look tomorrow, immobiliser runs 2 wires to ecu and one to engine bay. as I don't have a wiring diagram and they spliced internally in multiple places=fun.

had 3.5 hours on it today-removed clocks and booted dash out as it would take forever otherwise.

Its worth doing as rover motors are **** really, sound nice though!

Kind of what I came to with RV8, too expensive to get decent power out of, too thirsty and a 3.9 or 4.6 94mm bore prone to liners.

1uz-fe is bullet proof quad cam 32v v8.

Also if you compare a whole car and bits you need v engine megasquirt and sundries=cheaper for whole car.

also If lt230 quits they are cheap or save for atlas transfer case:eek:

one day mate the 72 will get serious v8 power , just hope the current low miles motor lasts long enough for my bank acount to recover from the rest of the resto!

Figured out the ecu is taking coded pulse from immobilizer Stripped more excess loom out

Some pictures tomorrow, guys at lextreme are good on older models, but this one the wiring diagrams don't match.

Stripped out body ecu and figured out the body ecu earths out immobilizer wire if alarm triggered or attacked. Also body ecu earths efi relay.

Reckon I'll have half a dustbin of wires by time I'm done.

In between looking at storage heaters and an economy 7 meter fault. Mate and I - got couple of hours in and have front wings off and headlight wiring removed. The plan is to have a plug and run loom and then when in 90 make it tidy.

One of the fun things will be that the cruise and gauge and mil light wires.
Hoping to get couple hours tomorrow. Then that should be almost ready to pull engine and gearbox

Will post some pictures tomorrow as it looks like a vipers nest at moment

loom is out and it's a mess-but it will start engine, will need to find battery and mil light later on.

What we have done is to remove numerous joining blocks and solder and tape the connections. when in landy we can nicely shorten or extend loom as required and heat shrink soldered connections and do it nicely with loom tape
