Yer I think your right. Just spoken to tyres-direct and they recommended the Fedima's in 285 format. £845 delivered for 5 on -35 offset modulars. Worked out to only be an inch thinner than the 33's and a lot cheaper.

Think that's what I'm gonna go for, gonna be better for the new suspension. Good groud clearance and maximum artulation. :)

Good compromise, and 285 75's _do_ look damn good ...

Uh oh.

33x13.50x15 on 10" -50mm rims, 'some' spring lift and no body lift, and a cheesy grin to finish it off :D

To be honest, we do have a lot of play time on our doorsteps here up Norf.

We recently got electricity you know and they're putting tut' t'internet in soon

Are they Pro-comp front shocks Sam?

+2"? What do you reckon to them?

Just bought a pair (cheap) anyway but I'd be interested in your views.

Yeah Procomp +2 all round paul

About 3 years in I think, defo 2 years.

All good!

They're defo the softer end of the options available, and although this doesn't cause an issue up front where they are mounted vertically, as the shocks have become a little tired perhaps and where they are not vertical on the rear AND with the tremendous weight in my car they have got a tad bouncy on the rear on some lanes

I am thinking about terrafirma big bore shocks for it but that's another story

In short mate they're just fine/excellent/great etc :)

Got +5 procomps on the rear of my old Disco and I found them to be very bouncy as well.
For me this time round it'll either be Terrafirma +5's or the RAC kit.

See I like these but Christ they are expensive compared to 285's.
Looking at at least £250 more for a set of five

I have the terrafirma +5's and find they cope with everything i've thrown at them in they're stride pretty damn well, from being heavily loaded on the road to p&p's loaded and empty.

Noisy, you running a 2 inch lift? Getting any tyre scrub in the arches on the 33's?

I'm on a HD 2" lift with 35x12.50's and obviously get a s*** load of tyre - arch action on the rear but I really want to try and avoid a 2" body lift as it can get pretty tight round here height wise on the lanes as it is :/ Thinking about chucking some 1" spring spacers on it as a trial to see how it goes...

Cheers Sam, just pondering whether to get +5 Pro comp rears to match or OME/Terrafirma .. I know they're better pin to pin and need an adaptor, but I want to buy once .. OME too expensive really so think I might try Terrafirma. Nice to be able for once to have a choice!

Nice tyres, Fedima do seem to give grip though, possibly due to the compound, so although more expensive, they might be more grippy ... They certainly seem to last well on others Defenders etc .. ;)

35's on a 2" lift??? Bloody hell you've done well lol

Have cut the arches right out and fitted flatdog extended arches to cover the tyre - I don't find I have any problems day to day or on 90% of greenlanes its just when I get onto the P&P sites I get rubbage :( I personally think it sits real nice and for that reason plus the fact I don't want any more dents in the roof I'm not that keen on the idea of going up any more than I have too!

You know they're gonna be BADMAN with 24mm tread

Will stabs taller than 33 for sure and be a unique choice

Be your own hero and get them.

It's on 2" dampers and 3" springs but with the weight it might be nearer 2" again

Obviously it rubs on the rear but not too bad tbh

If it was on sensible wheels on 12.5 it would probably tuck but on the negative rims with these 13.5 it does rub the plastic arches

It is better now I've trimmed the ally back further behind the plastic arch extensions but it mainly catches the rear edge of the rear door, need to look at relieving the corner a bit I think

Basically it's just about ok but with relief on the door corner (like where the handle is etc) it would be ok even on these rims.
