true story
My place is a bit cramped now with all the other amazing bakers that provided offerings for the bash :D

Let's just draw a line under all the squabbling. ......I accept I contributed to it as I took the feedback personally ( bloody hormonal women. ....ask for something and then get upset when we get it  ) LZ is like a family ....fallings out, name calling and on-line punch ups. Vut like any family , when the chips are down we all help each other out ( LZIR, just as one example ).

So we have an opportunity to make next years event even better and appeal to even more members....lets use all of the goodwill and talents out there to make it happen. .....Sue , I for one would really value your input and talent for getting stuff sorted .please don't let the direction of this thread put you off. .....its as much your event as it is anyone elses. :)
:amen::cool:
LOL 110, take a lot more than this thread to upset me :D

I cant use the hormonal excuse, I was bored :D:D:D

And you did ask :p:p

Happy to help with anything except CAMPING :pound::pound:

sue filter applied :p

You're Ming's ickle poppit! …

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::jaw::jaw::jaw::jaw::jaw:

How's the tortu… tweetmint room doing? …

:D:p:rolleyes:

did any other groups or forums attend or was it purely landyzone?
know it was talked about on another thread prior to the event, just curious as to whether it happened or not.

nope twas just us

110woman do you have the numbers of attendance. .. or vehicles even?

We know we sold 58 tickets - also know that we had a least 2 pay on the gate ,that I know of- Kirsty may have had others

When I added up the numbers on the who is going thread we got to almost 100 ( that was without kids ) .

Can tell you we provided catering for just over 500.... which mostly all went .

I'm a member of auto****e Auto****e -, I put a link on their events thread as there are quite a few landy owners on there but as far as I know I was the only one who came.
On a side note, they had a few members who attended their ****efest Cymru, held near Aberystwyth, from scotland.

Not too bad numbers for an inaugural event, but if it were me, I'd only plan for the same number next year!

If 100 said they were coming but only 58 actually bought tickets it makes me wonder about the obvious (to those of us who went) effort you (all) put in and whether it's worth it.

As a forum meeting I believe it worked well, it just seems a pity to go to that much trouble for less than 1% of the subscribers to landyzone ... or conservatively 5% of the actively posting (roughly 1500) members ...

No easy answer .. maybe base food supplies etc solely on ticket sales up till the week or so before, with a contingency amount, raise prices slightly, £25 would be Ok for me. We pay about that for a full weekend with the caravan, on CL's with electricity and water supplies, as a guide .. ;)

Ah what about the armbands how many of them were distributed? I guess kirsty would know that?

Tickets were per vehicle and numbers on the 'who is going' thread included pasengers and some bought tickets to support the event knowing they couldn't come.

For myself the effort was well worth it and I'd do it again for the same numbers :) Be nice to not bankrupt Accy and Roy though

I'd like to think we could increase numbers without reducing the quality of amenities. Ticket price and what that covers may well be altered but we can look closer at that when all the info is in one place.

Must say I'm a bit biased maybe .. I gave up model car racing (I was National and European championships referee) due to 'politics' .. You get a bit jaded when you've put the effort in for 15 odd years and only a very small percentage either notice or bother with it .. and no, I'm not aiming this at respondents to this thread, I mean those we never hear from at all but who are happy to use the forum without any input!

I really hope it does go ahead and if there's anything I can do, just ask. ;)

I agree and to be fair we did sell an idea first time around, now maybe an early bird discount for early booking and sell tickets soon

I think that loads more would have gone had they not had concerns about the venue etc etc.

Stick with Stanford Hall, announce the date WELL before the due date and get the ticketing running as soon as you can.

Keep the 'nonsense chat' out of the event thread(s) so people can find out about it more easily.

Despite the weather we enjoyed it and as nearly all our family was there, it was a nice get together.

I think theres a few lurkers of auto****e on here, me being one tho I don't post much as its all stuff I'm not particulary interested in.
uncle zip and grubby john are ones I know of.
we did call in at ****efest malham last year while on a laning day, where there was a few far travelled members.

anyway, :focus:

I'm not, but we called at their Malham meet on the way back from laning one day :D:D

They had been laning with a Lada and other stuff, and one of the members had to go home because a cow fell through his barn roof :D:D

That and target shooting, archery, axe throwing and a Honda 90 made it an interesting event :D:D

Looking at the wrist bands there were exactly 100 given out. But, I'm pretty sure that not everyone there was given a wrist band. There whe definitely a few that arrived on the Saturday that didn't.
Can anyone who was there comment on whether they had or not.
