Sound's to me like you eat too much of that ****!!!

9:30 is good for me and Stacey!

What.......Who......Where .........Moi...! :D

Oh...! one more thing after reading the "Hertfordshire lanes" thread.

This is not a club. This is a group of people all taking responsibility for themselves & there equipment, vehicles etc, etc, whilst driving down green lanes of their own choosing...!:crazy_driver:

Hi MrBurton2.

Am I missing something here????
The map just shows all local A & B roads...??

If that does take in to account a lot of green lanes looks a good route.

Mike,
there was lots of A & B roads taken in...but if you zoom in & try toggling bewteen Maps/satellite, you should find parts that are the lanes, and thus not on the maps...if that makes sence....

That looks like a great route. I've done a couple of the ones near Braintree. Just right with no deep ruts, just some nice lanes.

You should note that the one going from Great Leighs to Notley (South of Braintree) is signposted at the Notley end to say its closed to vehicles between October and March.

I First did it from the other end in January and only noticed the sign on the way out.

Just a heads up for any others who want to try this route. :)

I have also never managed to find the entrance to the one that is off the A120 (North of Braintree)

I have a map showing it, and often try and look out for it as I pass there quite often.

I have heard that there are locals that oppose it though, which made me think it was closed.

Hhmm..OK, Worth noteing...although I dont recall seeing any signs to say so...
Dont want to give the anti's any ammunition...

If you come from the great Leighs end I dont think there is a sign. You go up someones drive then behind their garage. There are 2 parts, in the middle is a farm. At the end of the second half (Notley end) as you come out by the metal barriers you will see the sign. You need to look back to read it.

I Hope it helps. :)

I'll get a Picture later. I did not check the highway code but I am sure it means closed to traffic. Its a proper concil sign, Red Bordred Circle if my memory serves me.

And that lane has had glass bottles laid at the signposted end before-my mate got 2 flats there a couple of years ago-check it before you drive through!

What a strange day today guy's. Made it home after an intense journey on the M11 and M25. Stacey and I hardly said a word to each other, we were just both intensly listening to the throttle whilst praying it would'nt give out!!

Hope the rest of the day went ok for you guys.......thanks for the help.

Glad you made it home ok with no more loss of power... :) Stange how 2 motors "broke" within a few feet of each other :alien:.....only to "fix" themselfs a within a few feet of each other a mile or-so after towing....

I enjoyed myself....a good days laneing....

Garmin Connect - Activity Details for Essex LandyZone outing 21 Nov09 is what I logged today....if your interested

did ya go wrong then?

No We didn't go wrong. Mr Floyds throttle just stopped working in Violets lane...?? I backed up to give him a tow & then my truck wouldn't start...Appeared to be a battery fault.??
We both got towed to the end of the lane & if by magic we both started our vehicles as though nothing had happened.

A littl bit of a "Bermuda Triangle"..???? It was Really weird.

Carried on laning as though nothing had happened???

LOVE the new Avatar MrF............!!!!
