No pics as yet as my camera has been having a complete hissy fit of late and is refusing to work lol.
Goonarmy i do already have a set of tires on steelies to go on, though they are only 205 and i would prefer something wider in the future funds allowing.

Alright i went out Monday done a few lanes i'd bought a ordnance survey explorer map set a few on me tomtom and went out exploring. Started off local to me nothing special at all then went out to Writtle ended up on someones drive and then the next one where the byway was marked on the map it had gates with locks on whats the deal there? Then i went out to Good easter done a couple there they was ok went through a few fords water just come up over bonnet i've done nothing in the way of water proofing the disco but it was ok untill i got home and went to start it later where as it would start first turn it was taking more like 20-30 turns of the starter to get it started the same yesterday then as i was seeing where i could fit second battery looked at the airfilter it looked damp so took it out tried to start it and it fired up straight away dried the airfilter and again started straight away this morning. So looking at making a snorkel for it is there any plans out there to do this and the lanes i did there wasn't any hills or drops anyone know where abouts a good lane through a forrest or a bit more challenging then a rutted old road?

Good easter is deep, replace that air filter, dont bother drying em.Not really any hills round here, tis flat bit clayey. There are better lanes around, tried violets lane?Deffo need a snorkle for that if good easter is over the bonnet.

Don't do water without a snorkel or you'll learn the hard way. Have a look at the disco threads there must be something in there. We're out every couple of months so keep you're eyes open on here. We can take you to some good ones.

Nothing as yet thought about getting the diff protectors and steering guard but cash is tight recovery points are as standard as soon as i have enough i'll get a winch and bumper that will have more recovery points on it what do suggest to sort first protection wise?

Ok will do will i still need to get them if i'm dunna replace the front bumper with a winch bumper as that will have recovery points already on it but not sure about the rear bumper so should i get 2 or 4. And what about steering and diff guard's are they needed for laning?

A steering guard is advisable to protect the vulnerable bars you can see under the front of the car. I dont have diff guards yet but will be getting some.

Fortunatly for me I've only gone over muddy ground, but is only a matter of time before I hit something hard like a lump of concrete or an old stump. The dangers are always there.
