Wow Nick! Super quick time :D

Is that the little bolt you was playing about with on top of the filter housing with the little copper washer on?

What's the power like now with your new lift pump? Did think it was getting tired when you said the lever wasn't working.

As far as laning goes for me tomorrow. I am just doing the last few bits to the landy then I'll be taking it for a hoot up the A12. Providing the temperature gauge is defiantly working and water is flowing again, I'll see you all tomorrow.

I believe I am meeting Nick at the shell garage on the A12 tomorrow morning. Could you confirm time again Nick???

I've got that pipe for you Geoff if you still want it.

Stu is getting his lift kit tomorrow apparently so hopefully he'll be back with us..... all that work is keeping him away  Your rolling in it aren't you mate?? :)

Back now.
RAC failed to get it going, so towed me to Mansfield's.
Lift pump replaced and fuel filter bracket fixed as I had overtightned the bleed screw and damaged the thread. Done it whilst i waited and all up and running.

Seems to have a bit more get up and go. Could this be down to the new lift pump?

Glad to see ya got it sorted nick, I must admit I always carry a spare lift pump as they always go, had three go on me last year on the old 25n/a ,must admit the one on me 200tdi isn't looking great either as the manual pump lever don't work but it's an easy job to replace, 10minute jobbie:D got a spare on board at the moment just incase.

See you all tomorrow, looks like it's going to be a wet one:)

I was impressed! 2.5 hours between phoning the RAC and driving out of Mansfields :D

Power def feels better. Just got to get that cat off now!

Yes it was the bleed nut, I overtightened it & wreaked the thread, which left air getting back in

PM's sent confirming details for Saturday.
If I missed anyone or anyone else is joining please PM me or any of the above users who can pass on the details.

I've checked the Essex County Council website for updated TRO's and looks like our route is OK. The only TRO in the area we will be is 'Shalford Byway 13'
I will have a detailed look at the OS map tomorrow night to identify it and make sure its not ont he route.

Its worth printing the TRO list, that way if we are challenged (very unlikely) then we can prove we have a right of way.

I've also linked the SLROC webpage with their 'Drivers Code of Conduct'

As well as the Tread lightly DRIVER'S GUIDE
Link

Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday :D:D:D

Nick , Stu is going to email me an overlay of the route which will forward to James and hopefully he will have it on his pda for tomorrow

Thanks.
If it doesn't work, don't worry. I've now printed 6 copies of the route.
I'll bring them either way.

Could someone grab the snorkel top off George for me?

As long as he doesn't put up a fight

Had a message from Spike. unfortunately his Disco isn't all welded up yet so he won't be able to make it.
Spike, I'm sure someone would have a spare seat if you still wanted to come along.

Right. Just got in from under the Landy. Took it for a drive up to Martlesham and back. Temperature gauge is all working again. New thermostat in and all connections cleaned up on sender unit.

Goodie good!

I will see nick at shell garage. We'll meet and have a bite to eat then get on with it! I don't have an incredible amount of fuel left so will go either until it runs out or I have to go back to Ipswich. Got to be back at Ipswich for 3:30 - 4:00pm as I have got a job to do shortly after.

Also, not sure what condition the fords are in as my breathers are still awaiting the manifold so I might miss them out as I have recently changed all oils and don't want to be doing it again!

Lastly, Nick; can you just show me which shell garage for decimate on a map? Want to know what time I've got to leave!

Yep should pick it up tomoz morning, thank goodness, its beginging to wallow all over the place, think the squeak has now gone tho, allong with the bushes, lol.

I wish i was raking it in, may be doing the hrs but the Hr'ly rate suck's, but may have picked up some more contract work tho......

Nick cant belive how quick you got sorted with the RAC, it took them about 6 Hrs just to get me to Landypart.

Is there room for another vehicle or 2? and if so, is the route P38-able?

when we did the route back in december, there are a few deep ruts, that may not take prisoners of any front valances, i cant remember if any of us had any at the time.

and you will need good recovry ponits as well,

I know and then Mansfields had time to fix it and it didn't cost a fortune. thought tomorrow was going to be cancelled for me.
Glad to here your kit has arrived, hopefully meet up soon.

maybe a few hours laning in Suffolk next week or the week after?

Room yes.
P38 - I have no idea on the capabilities of a P38.
A few of the lanes back in December were a bit rutted, that said I only got stuck once in my Disco (pretty much unmodified then). Only damage i did was bending and flattening my side steps.

If you decide to join please get to McDonalds Braintree (CM77 8EZ) for 09:00, we will be leaving @ 09:30.

Shell Birchwood, A12 Ipswich Road (Southbound), Colchester, CO7 6HX.
I think its the first junction after you cross into Essex (bridge over the river Stour).

If this rain dosent ease up I might take the Kayak :D

Reckon those lanes will be really good after all this rain.

Anyone going to the SLROC off road day on sunday?

Missing again unfortunately. Its fathers day so I'm taking my dad to Manningtree vehicle show.

You hoping to get the gearbox finished tomorrow?
