Hi,

It’s been an eventful few weeks and now the RR (98 Gems) has developed an EAS fault.

I’m pretty sure it’s a ‘soft’ fault rather than an actual leak as when it threw up its error, I popped it into manual control, and the heights all stayed, if a little wonky.

Was ok for a day or two but I’ve to tow a Caravan back home on Sunday so I thought I’d try and sort it out with EAS unlock (as had left nanocom at home).

This initially showed up 2 faults (something was constantly high) so I checked I could make the pump run, cleared the faults and then tried to make it go to ‘normal’ height.

She levelled off but at a much lower height then decided to flag up the dreaded ‘35 mph’ message.

now the fault page shows a litany of errors, some of which are obvious nonsense.

have any of you fine folks come up against this before ?

is there an idiot-proof way of using EAS unlock to rectify these kind of issues ?

-or is it time to delve into the glovebox for the Schraeder valves -and, if so, does anyone have any recommended pressures -given that I’ll (hopefully) be pulling a heavy load with a maxed-out hitch weight ?

Try clearing faults and go from there. If your not happy go down valve route to get home so you don't b*gger anything up
 
Seems to be… and she’s holding air -and, while low, we’re not on the bump stops (yet).

it *feels* like an electronical problem of some kind.

I wonder if it’s in any way related to the ‘Fuse 10’ blown error I’ve been getting since the diff blew itself to bits (and the fuse continuously blows -I wonder if a wire has moved and is now shorting)

oh -and to cap it all, I think I may have cracked a rib by sneezing
 
A long list of contradictory faults indicates no communication. You must have the "Good Idle" indicator showing green.
You also need to start up the EAS software in the correct sequence. Connect everything up and start the program, get to the opening page having selected the correct comms port if necessary, then turn on the ignition, you can then star the EAS program running. Normally you will get the "Vehicle has moved" fault which means nothing plus any faults that may be present Click on the "Unlock" button then read the faults again, should be clear.
If all OK, stop the program, turn off the ignition and then disconnect the cable.

When you say ‘ turn on ignition’ do you mean go all the way and actually fire up the Quattro ? Or just key Position 2 to wake up the EAS.

-and yes. ‘Vehicle has moved’ was one of the faults !

Position 2 is OK if the battery is good but there is a lot of load that can soon flatten the battery, so safer with the engine running unless you have a good charger.

If the connections at the pins are ok mate list the faults that reaccur here as if it is saying like high pressure and low pressure along with other things I'd go pump had it before, also lift the passenger footwell carpet and kick panel see what the wires are like underneath as they often go there.
