I have my P38 3 1/2 years, do 20,000 Miles a year it has 140,000 on it now.
When I am away from it I want an L322, but then when I see it I love the P38.
But it will need replacing soon as it's my daily driver.

So for me the question is L322, or something else entirely.
But I have to say the L322 looks class out on the road.
I have enjoyed fighting with my P38, but do I want something that just works?

So my thoughts have turned to a BMW 630, Bland.
A Jaguar X350, Looks like an X type, no offence X type owners.
Or a Jaguar XK, been there done that.

All of which are cheap over here due to our tax regime.
Ho hum.

I had this decision to make last year,
Gave up my P38,2.5DSE for a 2004 (54) L322 3.0TD6 Vogue.
No regrets at all, so smooth & refined and the TD6 has power.
Take Saints advice Re: gearbox as they will fail without hardly any warning. overall a fine refined vehicle with a good mpg of approx 35MPG on cruise @ 60MPH.
I loved my P38 & yes she was a reliable old girl and I would never put them down, they are fab motors, but age was creeping up on her and I got offered a great price.
So my verdicts, go for it but please buy wisely with fsh and one that's not been used & abused. Remember their mass produced so there are plenty out there.
Good luck & enjoy.

I had a very quick look at a 53 plate td6 se today. It was on eBay as spares or repair but as it was local to me I popped over to see it. Its got a eas fault plus a couple of other faults. Didn't want it due to the faults and no history also base model spec. Nice cars though. The search is on!
