What use is the Freelander neither car moved, or did the HG go on the Freelander from driving up the hill the easy way.

I've read this thread and resisted the urge to wade in but have got to the point where I can not leave it.
I drive my Disco every day to work and everything in between, but I have also driven Freelanders as there are 3 in the family and I have to say they have one of the worst driving positions of any car I have been in, I always feel that I'm looking at the head cloth if I sit up straight so end up leaning forward to see out the window and get back pain on long drives.

Out of the 2 I have access to the most in the last 18 months they have both spent at least 1 month in total off the road when compaired with my Disco that has spent less than 24 hours off the road unable to drive. The Freelanders suffered from HG's, Gearbox failures, Broken drive shafts, the three amigos and viscous coupling problems.

I'm not saying the the Freelander is in anyway a crap car but is one of if not the most unrelable car in the Landrover range.

Oh and before I go the comment about Disco's not being able to pull the skin off a rice pudding, then tell me why your Freelander can only tow 2 ton where my Disco can pull 3.5 ton along with the rest of the landrovers built.

Looked at this topic a fews weeks back and never posted so here go's-

I own both a 300TDI modified 3dr Disco and a 2002 V6 freelander ES, and use them both as daily drives.
Both cars have big for's and against with them.
Towing wise they are both equal, for heavier loads the disco just edges it (the most I have towed with the disco was a v8 90 on a twin axle trailer and it didn't really struggle 3-4 tonne ish).
The FL can tow my caravan with ease and maintain 60-70 easily
Off road the Disco is better only for the fact of the larger ground clearance.
HOWEVER, on Ice,Snow,Wet grass, clay etc the Freelander wins hands down no question (On a Landcraft Bala trip the freelanders HDC outdid many of the disco's and 90's when descending down a clay hill with NO grip!!)
For comfort the Freelander wins hands down
Im sick of people going on about HGF VCU's issue's etc.
The Disco's have down sides like the body falling to pieces (Sills, inner wings, boot floors etc, cant find any rust on my FL!!!
I love landys in general and enjoy em both equally!!!!

Chav?

Nah, not me. You know nothing about me. However you, my infinitesimally small-cocked friend are coming across as a complete and utter ****.

Now **** off, there's a good troll.
