could i very politely suggest you have a GOOD read of the content of that link
Read it loads of times.....what's your argument???
could i very politely suggest you have a GOOD read of the content of that link
My link post dates yours............
I'm a £10.00 at a time man. I don't believe in lugging around all that extra weight of fuel, more weight = less MPG...At least thats my excuse for being a tight arse.
show me where it says you can mix used oil (i assume you are a registered producer?) and NOT have to pay duty for highway use motorized vehicles
the bench and engine testing section isn't reliant btw
Fook me we've got an HM Customs and Revenue toss officer online...!

Don't use used oil, clean oil FFS...!
Clean used oil with a centrifuge and send samples off for testing.
If the samples come back clean...as in as new according to the test.
Then ok to use as an experimental fuel.
It's all a small price to pay to save £££££££££££
Can you not feckin read????
New or used.
If you use a centrifuge , (very cheap to buy) to clean your used engine oil and keep a diary and weekly samples to prove your oil is clean..... it's legal.
Used ****ty engine oil comes out golden and free from particulates after cleaning.
Mix 50/50 with veg!
It's called experimental use and 2500 litres per year is exempt.
What's with all the scaremongering folks?
so whats the deal with veg oil ina 300 tdi ?
my mate uses veg oil and diesel in his old berlingo van
does a disco have to have a conversion kit or can it just be mixed in ? and a 50% ratio ??
also, what about used oil from a chip shop ? can that be used if its filtered ?
also, this dipping...ive never heard of that before, is it common place or more in rural areas with a lot of farms etc and not so much town/city areas ?
well show me where it says that is legal
and fyi ave been using alternative fuels since the late 80s (think it was a 300D) and must have done a few 100k in landies using SVO/diesel/petrol mixes - all of which are duty paid for vehicle use, and am fully away of the 2500l allowance for bio alternatives
now please for the benefit of everyone here could you SHOW me the text from the HMRC site that says it is legal to use engine oil in the manner you are suggesting within that 2500l allowance
i can do childish name calling if that's what you respond to but it's my day of rest so lets get this sorted amicably please
After nearly 14,500 posts on here I would have thought you would been a sound bloke and encouraging fellow LR owners to experiment.
You sound like a fookin barrister trying to win a court case...!
If you can do childish name calling (as you so eloquently put it) maybe you'll respond better to this.

Bung it in the tank and forget about it...300tdi's love it, don't let any fooker tell you different....
got bored waiting for the vanilla to reply so
just pour the SVO into the tank - change the fuel filter after 100 miles and then 500 miles has it flushes the crap outta the fuel lines - using it in this weather will result in blocked lines so mix it with lots of diesel and unleaded
WVO is good if you can find any of it for free these days, filter the bits out and as above - pour it in
dipping is the old fashioned term for the road side checks, which used to be aimed at finding peeps who were using red diesel, which has a lower duty paid, for public highway use
there's an allowance of 2500l for "bio" fuels, so there's no additional duty to be paid as long as you use the ingredients deemed to be constitutes of bio fuels
