Unsure where to post this and how to post it or find the right place so will start here until pointed in the right direction. I own a Land Rover 90 originally was a 200 then someone put a 300lump in then I purchased it. Been having loads of fun until the other day the engine mounts gave way. Not a big issue as we are going to take it out make new mounts because whoever did it before didn’t do them properly. We then noticed the bell housing bolts we are missing about 3 at the bottom but we can’t get any in as they don’t line up ?

they probably won’t go in as the gearbox bellhousing won’t be completely compatible with the back of the engine, can be modified etc,

google ‘steve Parker conversion’ as there is loads of information on his site

Okay yea some don’t even line up is this because it’s a 300tdi engine with probably the 200 box ? Obviously you don’t know my truck but just getting a rough idea from people. Thank you

where is your reverse, by first gear or down by 5th?

also just read that where your reverse is just means what type of gearbox you got for example if it’s up near 1st you have a lt77 so yea not sure just trying to work it out myself as it’s not safe to drive until they line up for bolts

Did you miss school the week they taught punctuation?

So my reverse is up by first gear. Does that make it a 200tdi gearbox ? So if I was to get a 300tdi gearbox I would assume it would line up ?

yep you have an lt77 gearbox which was never mated to a 300tdi (that used the r380)

it is fine, you can probably work out what studs or threaded holes are missing and tap and drill the existing bellhousing etc

I think that’s what my mate was saying I could do. If I was to replace the gearbox to make it fit the 300tdi engine or however it works which one would I need.

funny person you mate cracked me up. Don’t really care if I’m honest still understand it. Just want to sort my truck instead of listening to melons like you. But if that’s all your good for then fair enough

Hi @flat , was/is there an adaptor plate available for 300tdi to LT77? Can recall someone offering these some while back...possibly Steve Parker?

Silly question probably, coukd I buy something like this for example if I found out which one I need what make and model. Then that should allow the 300tdi to line up with the bell housing as it’s now the right one. Sorry for the silly questions

Obviously if I bought the right one now circled in blue would now line up with the 300tdi engine but would red line up with what’s originally there?

Think you need to check the length as well;), Something tells me it wont work (cant remember details). Maybe better to source a complete box and bell housing, bit extra cost but you could sell on your LT77:).

Also not sure what other bits would need changing/modding.
