Hi everyone, I would really appreciate your feedback on my unique situation with a nearly new Defender 90 P300. I have just purchased the Defender and it only has 50 miles on the clock and will be 12 months old in May 2025. I understand the official servicing requirement is every 2 years and some say that the oil should be changed annually. However, given my Defender has only 50 miles on the clock, would you recommend I do an oil change in May 2025 (probably will have no more than 200 miles by then) or is it best to wait until May 2026?

If you can afford a new P300 i'd not worry about the oil.
It's a modern car with a modern engine, every 2 years is fine unless you are doing several 10's of thousand miles at high revs in desert conditions ....

I exported the car from the UK to Cyprus. The local dealer wants £1k for a service that is completely unnecessary - the issue is not so much financial but will take me 8 hours of travel and 2 days without my car for something completely unnecessary! The car only has 50 miles but the local dealer is adamant a service is needed after 12 months regardless (or an oil change for £800 at the very least). This may be necessary due to the conditions in Cyprus but the car was in the UK most of the year.

I will just stick to the recommended annual servicing needed for Cyprus in a years time with my old defender oil!

But if the vehicle has only done 50 miles in 12 months who knows if any condensation has formed in the engine, depending on where it's been stored.
