The petrol is merely to dilute the oil viscosity to something nearer to diesel. It wont cause filters to block however much you use. You need to filter the oil before it goes in your tank.

I filtered down to 5microns, that should be ok shouldn't it? Want to cut fuel costs but i dont wan't to risk knackering the engine

scrap the bag filter sh*t !, you want a central heating pump off ebay £30, and a 10" filter housing off ebay 2, just pump the stuff through 1 micron filters ! as there is no fats that condense like veg oil so it is ok to pressure filter it !, veg oil is £1 a litre now aswell !, i go to a farmer who sells rapeseed oil to me at 65p a litre !

yeh im sure he will be, ALTHOUGH he gives me mates rates its normally 75p/l but mix it with some diesel and your away, he is based in lutterworth ? but can deliver on orders over 200L do you want his number ?

well depends what motor you have got ?? rapeseed is slightly less viscous than cooking oil !, wil give it to you in a minute just trying to find number

TD4 back on engine oil, put in 20ltr of diesel and 10ltr of oil, runs perfect after over 200 miles. Will try 50/50 this week. Bad news is the garage i get it from says he selling it to someone else? I think he's just trying it on.

You really may as well run on keresene or cherry if you are going to use old engine oil as its as illegal as them.

Get stopped you will be fined heavily at best.

Anyone who tells yo different is mistaken.

They dipped my tank and I told them that I'd recently had a turbo leak that put oil in the diesel and diesel in the sump etc. because the TD5 has a circulating fuel system. One thing they aint is mechanics. Quick look to see the shiny new turbo and by then they'd done their chemical marker tests and I was on my way. Black engine oil or copy toner does not mask the chemical markers in red or kero. Its a fallacy that they look for the red colour alone.

if you distill engine oil it doesnt have the black colour any more :), and f*ck kknows how they would check other wise, i will get you that number, i am having a clear out tomorrow

with a fancy machine that can look at the chemical makeup of the solution similar process to bag swabs for drugs etc

Done around 400 miles on 50/50 mix, a little sluggish starting and a little light grey smoke till it warms up but otherwise wouldn't know any difference:D
