Hi James, it's been a while since I checked the 4wd system but cars driving no problem at all. I'll try it tomorrow in 4wd and see if there's any dragging, that the best check?
 
do what matey ?,a difff has 3 outlets 2 need to be ulocked for wheel to turn ,if one wheel on the ground and axle connected to v/c wheel shouldnt turn freely unless somethings bust
 
thought the vc had to spin up a few rpm to lock, might be tricky by hand??

I agree the method is good for manual locking diffs- used it on the 72 but wasnt sure on the later v/c ones.
 
you try and turn one there dont spin they transfer a good few pounds torque before locking up ,you need good pull on 3fr breaker bar to turn wheel so good enouigh to test axle parts ,
 
what I mean is will it lock up when turned by hand? isnt that what he wants to check?
