Hi Guys i just want to say a few words if i may this goes out to everyone who has took time to read this posting and too the few guys thats been with me from the start, and to be honest i dont even know you guys other than on here...

I would like to say no matter the outcome of this car i would indeed like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart i cant repay you for the time and effort you have all put into the replies let alone the time sat reading up for me etc.. its been a bit of a ****er to be fair and a ball ache at my end ive gone through good and bad and frustrating days, but to be fair im lost now its too involved if it had not been from the support on here i would of sacked it by now and cut my loses, this means even the guys that has just wished the job and me well too, as in all areas like this we will have divided opinions and views but the main thing is its all help no matter how daft or silly the idea might or might not be...and i thank you all for that..

With regard to people offering money to charity and the landy zone forum on a successfull repair on my car i just basically cant believe how good and how much this must mean to you all and rightly as put earlier "its not even your car" which its not lol... Its going to put a bit more pressure on Rick but to be honest he is my last chance and this range rovers last chance at survival to be fair so i hope he is the man for me and my rangie.. However i will also be contributing to this boards well being no matter the outcome fix or no fix on my car, i cant thank you guys enough and the people who are running this board for it all to happen in the first place.. Sorry its in red guys i just want you all to read this and see that im thankfull for all you have done so far chaps..

Thanks again guys just want you all to know i am over whelmed with your support and advice for sure and i hope it has a happy ending fingers crossed eh..and a specail thanks to the following Saintv8 defender300tdi Datatek sasasnak strangedays jt armstrong rodntod dogsbody aerofabrique and top man Doug and his wife jean

It don't work like that. You knocked on the door and are lumbered for life now.
Those you mention are a part of you and you are a part of them.
When its going, never ever tilt the mirror in the hope of seeing your familiar smile. You won't be there, your reflection will have gone. Gone I tell ya! Nothing but a maniacal grin.
Your life becomes a 3 way split. It's working, it's not working or you're asking a question here.

G~

Keep the faith my good man, keep the faith. Lovely words by your good self, the guys here are all rooting for you, we all know its something small and silly, that when resolved will be a classic case of "I can't believe it was so simple..."

What SD says .. even if we've not been involved, there's peeps been reading this thread without actively contributing! Hope you fix it .. have you tried just 'ittin' it wiv' a' 'ammer?

;)

This thread has made me see the true spirit on this forum and I'm glad I've joined. I hope to be able to put something in along the way one day. I've 22 years experience on the spanners, Mainly with Rolls Royce and Bentley, I worked for a time At Aston Martin works service in the heritage department and now work for Porsche. So crumbly british wrecks with wayward electrics are bit of a way of life for me. My years on Rolls Royce where predominately as an electrician. I am a master of the magic Lucas smoke. If the car was closer I would certainly have a look at it. If no Joy is had and if you can get it recovered down to this end then if someone local to here has a faultmate extreme or similair then I will fix it. Sorry if this sounds a little big headed, I don't mean it to sound that way.

Where there is a will there is a way keep going many of us have had a long haul getting their p38,s right and I can tell you it is worth every bit of anguish please please dont give up

As far as im aware as Rick has not asked for the keys off me....
No need for the keys - the immobiliser system is seperate to the BeCM and the Engine ECU link...

When the car gets unlocked - the RF Receiver asks the BeCM if the code is good, if it is the immobiliser allows the BeCM to pull in the ignition relay and then sends a code to the Engine ECU - if the code is correct (the all important sync code) the engine will start...

We know the Keys are synced as the BeCM pulls in the Ignition Coil

We are pretty sure the sync code is correct....

Just hope Rick can figure this puppy out...!!

And Rob - kind words, you are a true gent.

As a newer member myself I completely agree with you Rob. The guys on here are fantastic, and have so much knowledge it's brilliant.

Even people I've told this thread about (who think anyone who has a P38 is mad - including my better half) are rooting to get this car started. Fingers, legs an'all crossed for Rick fixing :)

Marc

Yeah, everytime time I feel a bit down about the latest niggle on mine I have a read of this and realise it could be worse!

Look on the bright side. You're getting superb fuel economy out of it and whilst it isn't running nothing else is breakig/falling off it. :D
