Can they not be cut and spray glued again ??

The trouble is all the dust & lumps from the foam that has disintegrated, Dopey's method is best, remove the shell and re-cover. Mine will have to wait until it gets warm again:(

Sure. Depends on state of foam; mine had just come unstuck. Wide brim hat is another option.

My last p38 the previous owner had drilled through the rooflining backing and fitted fir tree push studs at intervals. Gave a lovely kind of chesterfield sofa look to it. Suffice to say I re did it properly.

Wow what a read, not sure how I have missed all this!

I think this thread should be given the accolade of becoming a sticky. It is an inspirational story and would serve to remind RR owners old and new that sometimes, just sometimes, the odds CAN be overcome and the pleasure will outweigh the pain in the end.

Either that or we have to never let his thread lie, somebody must post something here at least once a week, just so that it lives on...

Glad you got it sorted out.

I went offshore for 2 weeks, and couldn't see it. Then had stuff to do, so 3 weeks since I left this thread.

Happy for you mate. Glad you survived.

Can anyone tell me what...

"out of working range with existing components"

actually means when pertinent to a BECM?

Does it just mean you have to replace a BECM with another BECM of identical spec and from the same engine or it won't work?

Not sure, but maybe you have fitted high line components to a low line BECM. Why do you ask what have you changed?

what have you changed?

Nothing! Was just reading the thread through, and wanted to be aware should I ever need to change my BECM due to catastrophic failure.

I'd probably have to go for a second hand one and get it re-programmed, just wanted to avoid any costly mistakes that's all.

Mine is a "trimlevel 3" car, and I was just wondering if that affects what BECMs I can fit...

BECM's come in Hi line and Lo line and are programmed for engine type etc, these parameters can be changed. There are various levels of firmware as changes were made over the life of the vehicle, Rick the Pick knows all the details.
