Hi Chaps,

I'm hoping some other poor sod has been through this before. My battery died on my 2005 RR SC L322 at a car boot sale on the weekend and hasn't been the same since it was jumped.

The keyfob isn't recognised anymore, so I cannot use the lock/unlock buttons and the satnav is just sat at the land rover logo.

I've combed the manuals and although there is reference to initiliasing the satnav i cant find any bloody instructions or my security card.

re: keyfob, I also tried following these instructions as per other posts to programme the keyfob but no luck yet. Been annoying the neighbours all evening!

1) Get in and close all doors. Turn ignition on and off quickly and remove the key (all within about 5 seconds).

2) Within 30 seconds of turning the ignition off, hold down the "unlock" button and press the "lock" button three times. Release the "unlock" button.

3) Quickly put the key back in the ignition and turn it on/off again to finalise.

Any ideas on how to resolve these two issues as I am now officially stumped.

Thanks

Gareth

First mistake is jumping a Range Rover - although officially it can be done - they bloody hate it...the electrical spikes are enough to fry most things!

If the 2005 is wired up like the 2003 - try removing Fuse 49 (if I remember Correctly) for 30 seconds and replacing as this sometimes resets the Audio and Nav systems! Check your manual for correct Fuse Number!

As for the Key sync - when mine played about, I put the key in the ignition, turned to Pisition 2 and pressed the lock then unlock button, seemed to work....

The process you described sounds like the New Key initilisation procedure only different...

The problem with the 2005 model is they sit inbetween the 2002-2004/5 BMW Years and the 2005/6 onwards Jaguar Years and there was a lot of cross over in this time....very confusing!

i had similar issues after jumping,

49 is on the bottom row and it's a yellow "30" fuse with nothing either side of it.

hi gareth firstly put in where your based . someone local could help more !!!! anyway I sorted another l322 out but not sure what year it was ,but this is worth a try as it shouldn't cause any other problems ,,,,,here goes
1) unplug body control unit +bcu under seat
2) remove negative lead on battery ,,,,remember to keep car door open all the time !!!!! so it doesn't superlock .!!!!! big problem if you don't ???????
3)re-plug bcu back in
4) re-connect negative lead

all should re-sync and sat nav should be ok oh!!!!! make sure your sat nav drive unit is switched off i.e. no red light on unit in the boot before you disconnect anything ,, ok best I can do im afraid .. let us know how you get on cheers MOZZ:):):crazy_driver:

Thanks for the info, I'll try test that tomorrow.

Good to know. If I find myself in that situation again, what is the best option to avoid messing the electrics? Once the battery died everything fell apart, the alarm starting going off, the electrics started making strange noises, it looked like the car was dying a horrible death in slow motion.

Tell me about, I've never seen such inconsistent information in my life. Land Rover must be a mad house! So much overlap, trying to separate the wheat from the chaff was impossible.
