Start button and as far as I know the engine does not start - my dad is aware that you have to put the keys under the dash to have them recognised but the other day he couldnt get the house key out of my front door so I am second guessing him lol

You have the new wire precise with the location and orientation of the key.
On my car you have to press it twice. Once to get the key not found message, then again for the car to fall back to checking the passive receiver under the dash

Need to go to Spec Savers OP says it doesn't start.
And memory class
To be fair.. took me more than a few minutes to figure out *exactly* how and where to place the fob.. even a few mm off was/is no good
