All quite inolved! Didnt realise quite how much work went it a swap like this. First time ive helped out/done it myself.

Now 500miles of easy driving, let everything bed in just in time for the Dyno friday :D

170 miles down driving like a 90 year old... rather dull but fairly relaxing :)

330m left before the Dyno Friday! :D

Definitely needs more soundproofing though! Im thinking tuck a load behind the airbox on the bulkhead and deaden the tranny tunnel further.

16.5 Gallons according to google..

So you're doing around 15'ish MPG when not driving like a granny..:D

Ahh but I call a "tank" from full to the first line before the yellow. Thats my reserve fuel :p which is roughly 50-60miles to the fuel light comes on.

So 290m for £70 of derv at 119.9 makes around 23mpg.

So itd be more like 350 - 360 to a full tank.

Did it go bang? you going to share the results? Pretty please.

Cheers

Sorry been fixing another 90 all day!

First run pulled a respectable

216bhp and 456nm

Did a few more runs and some tweaking

Strongest run we did was 231bhp & 526nm however the smoke levels where pretty excessive due to the limitations of the standard air box (currently looking at options for a bigger one!)

Also the Dyno rescaled to 1000nm as we pushed past 500nm so the graph isnt perfect.

Few more runs we settled on 223bhp and 502nm with acceptable smoke - by acceptable its less than a hell of a lot of TD5s ive seen! A light haze if you will.

So there we have it. Will fit a bigger airbox, up the fuel and go from there! Im very happy so far!

They arnt good. They cause turbulant flow which plays havoc with the APP and MAP.

Plan is a BIG ITG box mounted on the bulkhead. Not to mention fraction of the cost!

The MAP's in the intake manifold post turbo though? I can understand it affecting the AAP a bit.

Anyhow interested to see how you get on, would think the flow through the head is the next limitation - port matching time?

Yeah post turbo but a few have tried twin airbox intakes none have succeeded.

Oh it has plenty more to give with a few easy mods. After that yes, it would be head work but unless the HG goes i wont be going down that route.
