I did yes. However my mate has it and I wasnt overly impressed. The 'arm' kept catching and diggin in on steep hill climbs

Saw a broken down Puma on the way home, pulled over to see if I could help having a full compliment of tools on board.

Sadly not... axle.sheered on the friction weld!

Totally spur of the moment. Ashcroft HD R380 came up for sale for less than half price with an LT230 and was down the road. So I HAD to buy it :p

Its for a D2 but not much to make it fit a Defender...

Sold the LT230 and my Gearbox to a mate almost what I paid for the Ashbox. So win win :D:D:D

It's a shame neither Ashcroft's or Synchro will sell just the upgraded extension housings for these, they both only want to sell them with a full gearbox.

Lovely weekend laning in The Peak District. Fairly long drive up Friday due to a crash on the M1 but otherwise not too bad!

Really good techincal lanes as well.

110 sure does have some flex with the new suspension set up.

However the rear anti roll bar lasted roughly 2 miles on the lanes

So removed the ARB links and zipped tied it up and out the way. Left it off the rest of the trip, cant say I noticed much difference in the handling. So will see how it goes this week but will likely leave it off.

Front one however, much better. Just limited the front axle articulation but didnt damage itself or cause any issues. So that will stay.

Been a while since Ive had to get a taxi :(

Looks like the DMF sh!t itself going down the mway. Been recovered to the garage to inspect.

If the DMF is toast itll be replaced with a LOF SMF :)

Plus side better now than on the dyno.

The gearbox was going to be replaced anyway so partially bugeted for. Just hoping its just the DMF

Cruising down the mway.

Bit of a bang, lights on the dash and revved high then a horrendous knock. Like a bag of spanners.

Still has drive 1st - 4th + R. Didnt try 5th. Didnt try going above 30

Fairly quiet with the clutched dipped but touch a gear and its bag of spanners time. Same if you rev it, bag of spanners.

So the LOF SMFs are not compatible with the DMF clutch kits :(

Which means a whole new clutch kit o_O however LOF does a new SMF VNT Extreme spec clutch without with 1000m bed in period! :)

So looks as if I'll be going for that plus the SMF.

Having a read around online it looks as though DMFs can only take around 450nm and below, anymore and they tend to fail.

Seeing as I was going to change the gearbox soon its not that much of a hit!

At least this should be the last time I have to change the clutch/Gearbox/Txbox!

On the plus side borrowing the Mrs i20, quite nice filling a tank for £30 and getting 350miles! :)
