I am ready to cry.

I thought as I got back from work early id set to preload properly. All ways going well until I didnt check the upper bearing was seated. Pushed the king pin in and started doing up bolts before I realised i had damaged the bearing!!!:eek::eek::oops::oops::oops:

Damaged beyond use.

Landys off the road now. Luckily Gigglepin is only 10 mins from work so I can pick up a new bearing and get it sorted tomorrow night.

I am so annoyed with myself its untrue.

Such a stupid bloody mistake.

Good to know im not the only one! lol

Very annoying as I need my car for work! Just had to unload a ton of tools and jam them in my bros fiesta haha (very grateful he let me borrow it!)

The landy is finally back together and running! Sadly still got an ABS sensor issue. Still saying "electrical failure - 18 times" so I'm guessing its dead. Ordered a new one to rule it out.

I did have to use a fair few shims in order to get 4lbs of preload(I simply could not be bothered to strip it again to get 3) 2 thickish shims and 2 wafer thin shims. However the ball moves freely and happily.

:(:(:(:( things get worse. Noticed this lovely patch of tinworm on the rear xmember. Roughly where the NAS step bolts up also looks like a similar hole is opening the otherside.

I believe due to its location its an MOT fail? (Which is in oct :(:(:()

So the sodding thing is going to have to be replaced. Any suggestions on what to go for? And who to fit it?

I would have a crack myself but alas i canny weld (yet!)

Realised im off to France off roading next week in the lovely Marquenterre! So cracked on fitting the D44 guard. Which was a right pain.

There are 3 bolts which go up through the front xmember and bolt thru the bumper. However they are not straight up! And zero access from above to drill so its blind guess work :confused: unless I want to drop the IC and AC

8 holes later and two bolts are in  could not get the third lined up for love nor money so two will have to do!

Filled the holes with a generous amount of hammerite as well.

Looks good tho! Matches my stainless/black theme well

Have lunch on the train n make coffffeeeeee lol all we ever do there haha

Looking forward to seeing what the 110 can actually do this time as last year i had some running issues and a boost leak! Basically meaning i had to take everything in 3rd low so it took a pounding.
