Sigh I wish you would stop this Josh, ok so how much for a set for a 90?;)
🤣🤣 Honestly not sure I can do a set for a 90 as I havnt got one to measure and check against! Though im sure I can in the future....

Wannna get these done first, thinking about incorporating a lower detachable maybe foldable step to help the mrs...

look at designs on the dodge ram type motors.they have steps that lower but look like sliders.

I have already. They all state "not to be used off road" "not to be used a bash bars" etc....

Already looking into jeep/G Wagon styl that retract underneath out of harms way. Shockingly not much from ole AliEX will just need proper mounts fabricating and waterproofing the electrics.

Plus doesnt help that the passenger front door switch is very temperamental so would need a new option 😅

thought…
Cut slot in slider & push a step out, pushes out & drops down.flush fit so sliders still work
Yep electronics are a pain… have you not got an air compressor to use air rams? (Use these on the horse box & 2 rams lift up the ramp) they are out in the elements & work fine .

Its only a matter of time and MIG wire.....

Designed, cut and bent!

All tacked up ready for a test fit. Annoyingly will have to remove my sills and current steps to check fitment, alignment and brackets.

Will have 4mm gussets throughout to add strength.

Got carried away and made the frame for the drawer system as well 😄

Pretty heavy duty, all 3mm mild as thats what I had. All within about 2mm, not perfect but it will do.

Now the frames together I can design the actual drawer! Luckily got an old sheet on 1.6mm which is never going to be used so that will make the drawer.

Using roller bearings as opposed to runners because they are more forgiving to poor tolerances and hold great weight. Not because they are £7 for 40 from Aliex 🤣

Nearrrrlly there!

Everything fits, everything works well, super smooth action.

Just waiting for the latch to arrive so I can cut the front plate and the lower locking plate.

Main frames 90% done just need to fit the upper bearings.

Drawers very close well hence the half paint 😅

Off work today so spent the day making my rock sliders. Went extremely well, design was pretty much spot on. Just had to rework the bulkhead bolt bracket but that was easy.

4mm mild folded where possible. 4mm gussets throughout for extreme strength.

Mounts to the bulkhead bolt & rear outrigger using 6mm plates. Secured with M12 bolts.

Welded inside and out. Gussets welded on all faces.

Just got to order paint!

Here an idea for the steps & how they fold away.
Would be easy to make, using your draw type bearings & angle iron as guides

(The bellow are the type on our works trailers & are used daily)

Looking good mate! I’ve a challenge for you if you fancy it??!! I can give you all dims, just name the price!

Back fo Salisbury again for a days off roading and a catch up.

Was a great weekend. Got stuck a few times because it seems not many of the lanes or the plains have been driven in quite a while! So all the thick clay had settled.

Very impressed by the Jeep but suppose you would be for £40k!

Lessons learned -
Car rattles like ****. Need to tighten everything up inside 😅

Lower door seals need upgrading asap!
