Can't wait to do the roof - the laquer is absolutely shot!

Oh Rob, what have you done !!!!

Your Disco looked so beautiful before, but now with that green, oh dear me no.

I do like the scoop though.

Dave

Amazing how tastes differ, some like the scoop, some the colour, others not, etc!

I have my opinions :p

The big catch is the laquer is going/gone! The roof is totally fubar'ed and there are patches going on the doors too. So, the paint needed doing. I can spray but not metallics because I don't want to die doing it. That leaves "plain" colours. I want to be able to say I've done it myself so I opted for rollers and a subtle colour of Kwaka green.

I've never been one to blend in with the crowd!!

.......and you?

Hi Rob, sorry if I offended you it wasn't intentional. It's just that to me your Disco is probably was of the best, most sorted I'd ever seen.

I accept completely the practical approach you are taking to the re-paint, Kwaka green is a VERY noticeable colour.

And to answer your question - I steer my own boat, for better or worse.

Hi Dave,

I wasn't offended - did I come over that way - sorry. The Disco is still "sorted", it's just a bit in ya face now. Wait until it's finished!!

I started planning it here.....

If I get bored I fancy Cadburys purple next.:eek:

That's the best way by far. Do right by your family, your friends and yourself and if others don't like it they can go f:censored::censored::censored: themselves!

I'm more than happy if people don't like the paint, scoop or lack of mud - it's mine and I love it.:eek::eek:

When I was a alot younger and trying to climb "the greasy pole" my job was always uppermost in my mind to the detriment to my family, but with age comes wisdom so I agree, family first, proper mates next and that's about it.

Cheers
Dave

PS That Cadbury purple is a REALLY cool colour !!!!!!

I used a Stanley knife blader holder thing to remove the "Camel" black bonnet. Sanded the whole bonnet with very worn sanding pads and a palm sander. Washed & dried. Tack ragged. Primered. Rubbed down with 600 W&D. Washed & dried. Tack ragged. First green. Rubbed down with 2000 W&D. Washed & dried. Tack ragged. Second green. Not touching that coat for a week. Probably rub with 2000 and polish to finish.

The 'roller' finish is going to be better than most people could achieve with a spray gun!! :D

I REALLY wish this forum had a thumbs up smilie available, would get used a lot in this thread! :p
