As let the other thread:

****ttt!!!!

Like the paint says, "jah-well what's the worst that can happen" :D

Interesting. Can't wait to see that when it's finished.

What will be your method of application?

Toyed with spraying but the Disco won't fit in the garage. If I do it in the drive the overspray will inevitably go down hill and finish up in Barry Chuckle's garden.

Roller it is - just like the LRO magazine article.

what type of paint did you use?

i plan to do this shorty, what type of paint did you get?

Synthetic Polyurethane. I share several emails with Jawel and they said this was the best type.

Thanks for the tip. I saw the first few photos of yours - do you have any finished photos?

Well, here goes.

Started with a 99p Mazda RX8 bonnet. Started keying the surface with Scotchbrite Grey pads. Incredibly labour intensive and didn't really make much impact on the paint.

Moved to 600 Wet & Dry. Much better.

After good wipe down and clean with a Tack Rag, the first unthinned coat was applied.

It was quite "orange peeley" so following the guide from LRO mag, I used a second empty roller to flatten it all back.

The end result is very promising. Need to sand and reprime soon. Then the green!!

I'd cut down on labour and go just one coat of primer?!

Gonna be a task otherwise id have thought?!

I just slapped my topcoat straight on, but there is a fundamental difference I guess :D
