Hi guys, some great news from them super people at BBS. They seem very accommodating and more than happy to help. I'll update tomorrow but the upshot is, we will be able to pay them direct thus removing any awkward situations with regards to payment. However, there may be a slight bump in postage costs but why are will to post direct to us individually. So, still a huge saving to be had!
Fantastic job Huffhuff ! everyone gets the discount, no one has the awkward situation and no one gets stuck with chasing people to pay up or running around posting the units and worrying about delivery.
This is a great model for group buys, I think more suppliers should look at this and learn from BBs.
Re the postage we would have to pay them to ship to you and then you would need to re pack and ship a second time so I cant see this working out much more expensive.

Ha, sorry, just read what I wrote last night. Damn bottle of wine.

They are willing to post to us individually, but there will be a slight increase in cost (not confirmed yet). Once they get back to me today, i'll let all know.

Final prices would be good. And if we are paying direct, will there be a discount code/coupon to use at checkout or something?
This is the Nancom I want:

And what sort of gains are there from using the Revolut thingy?

Thanks.

As i've said, once i've heard from them with confirmation, I will update here. The plan is to have a discount code which can be applied on their website - currently a 20% discount.

If you pay in GBP it is more expensive (as they have to add on their bank charges for converting to their base currency of Euro). If you pay in Euro through your bank, you first of all don't get the best currency conversion rate plus you're likely to be charged a fee to do it. Using Revolut means you can pay directly in Euro, with no fee - so it's just saving you more money.

It's really up to you how you do, through your normal bank or revolut. It doesn't affect anybody else, just your pocket.

Edit: I've just had a quick look. If you pay the company in Euro via a Barclays account, they will charge you a £25 admin fee. Barclays currently convert £1 into €1.32.

Using Revolut, there is no fee for paying in Euro and the rate is better at £1 into €1.40

So, using Barclays to buy something for €200 will cost you £151.45+£25=£176
Using Revolut, it will cost you £142.71 all in.

So, if my figures aren't wrong, that's a saving of about £33

Real world example;

The Nanocom Evolution for EDC P38 is £360.40. We will get a 20% discount taking it to £288.32. That is what you’ll pay if you pay in GBP.

If you wanted to pay in Euro, the price is €415.31. 20% discount on that takes it to €332.25

Paying the €332.25 via Barclays (other banks will vary) will cost you £251.59 plus a £25 admin fee. So, a total of £276.59 (£11.73 cheaper than paying in GBP)

Paying the €332.25 using Revolut will cost you just £237.19 (£51.13 cheaper than paying in GPB)

Havent read the whole thread but the last page?? ive had more than a few cos i cant say ****ed but 332 eur is £235 is it not?

Erm.. was happy to send cash asap! Just easier this way and extra peace of mind for all.

Ha, yeah my mistake. The sums were all wrong to start but obviously didn't change the final one right :)

All sorted on what is happening now and am in possession of a 20% discount code so almost ready to rock and roll. I need some finer details from you guys first and will update this thread later today.

I'm just in middle of moving house and I'm currently on baby duty.

:)

What do you need? Full names and addresses + forum names.
Can we send by message on here ?
I'm ready to go

Indeed that, the name you will be ordering under, email address, your forum name and forum joining date.

If you guys want to get that over to me asap, I'll post up some final details later today including what is or isn't included for discount.

Thanks for being understanding. I'm now off baby watch and queuing at the dump!

OK guys, here goes. Sorry for the deeeelay.

I will PM you with the magic code once you have sent me your details (full name and email address you’ll be ordering under plus the date you joined the forum). I’ll then pop your details on an email to BBS who will verify these as and when you order. Other people can still join in, providing you signed up to the forum before this thread was started and you also pass me you details so I can update the official list.

The deal is 20% discount on all nanocom units as well as any accessories like extra cables and windscreen mounts. If you are buying a nanocom, you can also buy extra unlock codes (to cover other makes/models) at the same time and the discount will apply. However, you cannot buy an unlock code for a nanocom you already have (or for somebody else). It has to be part of the same kit and bought at the same time.

Remaps, Can Locks and Steering Wheel conversion kits are NOT included in the discount deal.

As this is a bulk buy of 10+ units, nothing will be shipped until the quota is met (understandably). Personally, i’m not expecting it to arrive that quick as it will take time for everybody to get around to ordering. I suggest we agree on a date that people must have paid by and give the opportunity for anybody else to join in. I propose a final date of 31st August which gives a little over 2 weeks. If everybody pays before then, we can close it and the kit will get posted out.

Delivery will be direct from BBS to yourselves. Once you have gone through the ordering process, you will have an option to choose EMS or DHL. I have been advised that even though EMS works out a tad cheaper - you would be better off going for DHL.

The process will go along these lines;
  1. Order as you would do normally from the http://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com shop.
  2. Choose the currency you’d prefer to pay in. Remember that paying in the Great British Pound will work out more expensive. Paying in Euro is best, even with your bank conversion/admin charges. Paying with an app ike Revolut will work out substantially cheaper (see previous posts)
  3. Once you have picked your model of nanocom and any accessories, progress through and choose your preferred shipping option (DHL recommended).
  4. At the checkout, enter the promo code i’ll forward on to you via PM and qualifying products will receive the 20% discount. You will see a box that says something along the lines of your order and discount is subject to approval and they reserve the right to cancel it if you are ineligable (this is where the ‘official list’ comes in).
  5. Once all 10 (or more) participants have paid, the units get shipped to us direct!
  6. Then when it arrives, we rush home, rip open the box and immediately plug it in to the car only to find it’s binging up multiple problems needing money, time, sweat and bloody knuckles to fix!
That is about it really. If you have any questions, fire away. I’m glad we finally got to this point but how quick they land on our doorstep is now up to you guys!

Think I've ordered one, but it never asked for payment info?? Is that normal, do they request it afterwards?

Not sure, haven't gone through and ordered mine yet. I'll do it in the morning.

Maybe they are waiting for all of us.

I'll send another email :)

Mines ordered
Yes it seems to work fine but it did not take any payment just give a message:
The promotional code entered is subject to eligibility criteria. Should all criteria not be met, we reserve the right to remove the code, discount and/or cancel the entire order.
I would think they wont trigger the offer until they have the full tem units ordered.
