Hello. Both front doors of my defender are well corroded on the bottom corners of the inside of the frames. The outside/skin looks absolutley fine, just the inside corners of the frame. I am hoping to repair them as best as possible to extend the life of the doors for an extra year or two. Wondered if anybody has done the same, and what advice they may have to get the best results please? Any help would be very appriciated.
Many Thanks

got mine to do the next couple of weeks
yrm do repair sections just up the road from you in hamsterley .
was up last week picking some bits up very helpful

Just one corner on one of mine gone.

For now removed door trim, cleaned up inside with wire brush on drill, vacummed, applied Kurust (Halfords) followed by Hammerite rust primer.

Rebuilt corner with aluminium mesh and good old P38 - was going to use P40 fibreglass, but thought the aluminium mesh would hold the shape better while it set up.

Primed, sprayed where visible with top coat.

Then generously sprayed inside the door with Waxoyl and reassembled.

So far lasted 4 months - know it won 't last for ever, but not bad for a couple of hours work spread over 3 weekends to allow materials to set up

Hadn't thought of YRM - next time!
