tried turning the crank as you wiggle it around... don't know what else to suggest..... try harder? :D

Yep tried slight turns on the crankshaft to align the splines on the gearbox input shaft with the clutch plate........... i'm seriously stuck with this!!!

I'm doing most of it on my own and asked a couple of guys to help me try and get the engine on the box - but it just isn't happening.

Thought i'd ask here to see if i'm doing something wrong???

get some threaded bar same size as studs cut to about 6"and screw into bottom 3 or 4 bell housing bolt holes. This allows ya to slide onto the Gear box in dead straight and properly lined up.

no no no you get BB down to wiggle fook outta it with you ;)

The only thing i can think thats stopping it is the spigot bearing - so i'll try and replace that on monday - not sure what i'm going to do after that!!

do the threaded bar or better still long bolts with the heads cut off. (they slide thru the gear box holes better.)

The you'll know that engine and Gearbox are properly lined up. also remove the engine mounts so you can slide it in level and not have to lower it in over the mounts.
