An elephant! Nice.
an elephants a hemi which is a mopar motor not gm so I doubt its an elaphant although its probably quite big and heavy by the sounds of it
An elephant! Nice.
No doubt it'll bankrupt me but if it gives 25mpg on the motorway I can live with that!
A 454 in a old carbed surburban gets about 8, which is what my rrc used to get around town
I agree thor, although it would help to know what engine and year it actually is as we have a lot of different options here pmsl , its probably a ford v6 hes got
I remember they didnt put a 2wd setting on the rrc drivetrain purely because the diffs coulnt handle the power of the old rv8 going to one axel, so they break easily lol

did you get your series finished doc?
if its from a caddy it should be a GM motor and not a 440 mopar like the others have said.
Will it fit width ways in a landy? not sure if you have the suspension turrets like you do in a RRC but there may not be enough distance between them to fit a big block in?
25mpg lmao
more like 12mpg
Sorry my mistake I thought ive always known wedge head mopars as elephants for some reason. I dont know of any gm big blocks at 440ci unless its an old 409 type or maybe an oldsmobile or pontiac or something. Certainly not a rat 2nd gen big block. More likely a chrysler wedge motor. Loads of parts available for those in uk
Series is getting there, had to rebuild gearbox to a different spec so it fits in properly but once thats back in its just bodywork to do then its off to the MOT centre
I would have thought so given that you can cram a BMW V12 into a disco or a 6.5 big block derv into a RRC!
Will find out though.....may end up having to modify the front end to get it in like moving the engine up and forwards possibly
Well he used to get 15 from it in the caddy with autobox on the motorway so was thinking I may get something a little better in a manual which weighs a lot less!
Yeah but cruising at 50mph might allow it once up to speed thats what I'm thinking

The 6.5 derv is a smallblock based motor bud and re mpg not sure those ratios will be right for that motor

Oh I thought it was a big one due to the size! My mistake
Well I'll find out soon enough! The caddy V8 seemed to run 2.94 not what thor said so it isn't miles out! Will see what its like once its in though
correct on both............ was a 3sd auto called a 400 and I listed rear diff ratio. Need to look at what the ratio was for that 400, as all 400's internals are the same
Plus it will be tough to find a fly wheel for it as a manual was not a option for that motor
