You have to be very old and remember when CBs were popular (and illegal) like me
It is a good idea though
But you only know about it because your grandad told you tales of CBs and out running smoky, right?

You got 40 channels to pick from, and there is no such thing as a 'dedicated channel' for anyone!
Basically, the CB is a public two-way communications service, and anyone can legally use any channel for their radio traffic.
Most peeps in this ****ry speak normal on CB apart from a few key numbers.
Now if ya decide t go pro (and anal) try Ham radio ffs.I've used it on the old am rigs but never passed the exams cos i got bored ****less trying to memorise morse code,It's more effective than Chinese water torture
No morse in the Ham radio operators examination any more.
You're a little bit wrong there Redhand, according to Ofcom, for a full class A amateur licence a morse "assessment" at 5 words per minute is still required. It used to be full 12 wpm plain language test when I did mine, but I was training to be a merchant navy sparks back then, doing 20 wpm.
For all other amateur licence types morse isn't a requirement.
Errm that's only if you want the Advanced Licence. Beginners and intermediate there is no Morse.
Thats handy to know, it was the morse that put me of doing it
