OK, this has been mentioned before, but only ever with 2 types of belt...

Just been looking at getting mine done by my mechanic (timing belts are somthing I don't like messing with)

my chap has come bac, after looking at his puter, with 3 different timing belt kits, 2 cheap ones, one expensive (all different)
It seems mine is possible the expensive one at £120+vat.

looking at paddocks, and other spares places, they only list 2 kits, for early, or late fenders, both about the £40 mark.

anyone shed some light on this?
 
There was an update done to the engine, modified crank pully and idler, best to order over the phone and have your engine/chassis number to hand. It easy to tell when you have it apart as the newer modified crank pulley has a lip on it
 
early engines had guides on tensioner and not on crank pulley ,later engines/kits swap those pulleys so only crank pulley has guides and tensioner doesnt , google err1092 belt lhh100660 crank pulley lhp100860 tensioner , you want later kit
 
right, time to ressurect this thread, and get me fender sorted.

paddocks later kit has
- ERR1092 Dayco belt
- LHP100860 Tensioner
- LHV100150 Idler

so, if I get this, plus the LHH100660 would give me the newer spec timing belt? am I correct??
 
just need to get part numbers sorted, want to get it ordered, and want a decat pipe for my 110, cos i cant stop the friggin cat from touching the chassis at tickover since iwe did the clutch, bloody annoying.
Had the whole thing off yest to sort it, thought id got it after taking it for a run yest, (only a few mm, but it was clearing) but nope, facing downhill, it still does it (Grrrrrr!!!) :mad::mad::mad:

- LHP100860 Tensioner
- LHV100150 Idler

so, if I get this, plus the LHH100660 would give me the newer spec timing belt? am I correct??
belt is the same its moving guides(lips on pulley) to crank pulley instead of tensioner thats the improvement
 
quick update.

Part No STC4096L

upgrade kit for older 300tdis, includes the crankshaft pulley, idler, tensioner, gasket and belt.
bought the dayco one today, £62
 
I wasnt sure, so got the upgrade kit (basically has the crank pully in it) didnt want to get it apart and find i needed another part, for the extra £12 thought id get it.

older engine, guides on tensioner, newer (or upgraded) guides on crank pulley. Ill let you know when Im doing it, feel free to have a look/lend a hand :)

Yeah sure or me know when, ps make a Template of the timing case and put th bolts in it as they are all diffrent I Think
