Avoid ALLMAKES / TERRAFIRMA / BEARMACH utter garbage!

Island 4x4, LR Series LRdirect never had a problem bought loads etc

paddock / craddock never have any stock and post it three days later when they do.
Bit hard to avoid them..

Allmakes + Terrafirma + Britpart = Border Holdings Ltd

Bearmach gone now right into administration?

Let's all be real here if It wasn't for Britpart we'd all be screwed.

Yes some parts are awful.. but truth is if it wasn't for them doing R&D then who we buying parts off?

Regardless if it's ebay / part seller website etc.. they're all drop shipping for britpart / allmakes

Just use "lrworkshop.com" to find the cheapest price and like someone said.. if you want the full genuine thing then look for G on the end of the part number and pay twice the price.

But be warned the older your car gets, the harder stuff will be to find for it.. example being the G valve from a 200tdi, no one makes them anymore probs due to lack of sales and upgrades to bias valves etc.

So I think as time moves on we all have to have faith in Britpart otherwise we are pulling out a lathe and getting custom CNC parts built ourselves in group buys!

This video gives you the recent insides to Britparts operation with R&D/QA etc

The G denotes Genuine. Britpart are a wholesaler, they stock Chinese shìt, miscellaneous not so **** and proper gucci stuff. G suffix is the gucci stuff.

That enough?
I am confused they always say they are an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)

Is Chinese **** not OEM ?
Is only G OEM ?

You can buy adjustable brake bias valves.

Genuine comes in a Land Rover box.
Seems to be some blurred lines with regards to OEM, should come packaged in manufacturer box, Delphi, Lucas, Meyle etc.
Seems this doesn't always happen, I took this up with Paddocks after buying Delphi droplinks and coming in a plain brown box with no manufacturer markings. They assured me they were correct and OEM, not totally convinced.

Yes but you have to change out how the brake lines run and master and slave then etc. not good for someone doing a simple repair.

It’s the same with a ton of part numbers also we all depends on Britpart regardless.

That’s interesting. I thought Bearmach were supposed to be ok.
as did I, lol
thermstat broken inside, aux belt cracking after 5 months use, with new tensioner from dayco, top swivil and cv bearings total rubbish etc the list goes on, thankfully they gone bust but still some of thier crap on the shelves.
PS allmakes -frogsisland-terrafirm all the same company cheap chinese tat

brit part is a lottery, some stuff like swivels n cv's are actually quite good, and they have the monopoly on interior n trim
sad thing is they also got all the old crap from the terrabagosheet crew now

Making new brake pipes is cheap and easy.

I've got some magic beans for sale if your interested? :D:D

Seriously though i would have sent then straght back, I have trade accounts with several motor factors and parts like Dayco, Lemforder, Delphi, Lucas, Gates, INA, always come in branded boxes, they also normally come in a sealed plastic bag inside the box, not always in bags but most of the time.

An original equipment manufacturer is generally perceived as a company that produces non-aftermarket parts and equipment that may be marketed by another manufacturer.
Thus parts branded Land Rover are made by others, but you can bet your life that most branded as OEM actually means made in china as cheap as possible and Land rover or any other car maker would not buy it in a million years but lets stick it on ebay with the words Genuine OEM PMSL.

The real growth in the phrase OEM came when consumers won the right to service thier own cars and not invalidate the warranty ( right to repair) providing they used either OEM or maker branded parts. Thus you had to prove branded part you used was on thier list of suppliers. Sadly as with everything its all about a pound note so they change suppliers like the wind.

So OEM simply means the 'brand' that makes a part for Land Rover to be sold as a Land Rover branded part.
So to be clear Genuine Land Rover parts are not OEM as they are LAND ROVER branded parts, the company that makes them for land rover to sell are OEM, and the same part with THIER brand on it let's say delphi would be a OEM part for a landrover.

just another way for car makers to make it as hard as possble for you and to liberate you of your hard earned beer money

I before E unless next to C. :vb-disagree:

Ive used Brookwells amongst others and found them very good. Try your local Indy specialist if you have one. You might pay a bit more but if you go in person, you get to know each other, which can be good for help and advice and supports a small business.
