i didnt as ive been working but my old man did for me, and he said that the shell's are too big for the con rod end, might be that the caps are mixed up, but im pretty sure they aren't as i kept them together
 
you might have but its worth checking as you need to know others are perfect and reason why this one isnt ,shells are a little bigger in that they compress tight once bolted up its called bearing nip and can be checked with feeler guage
 
I just scarpped a load of conrods and pistons about 3 weeks ago , you could have chosen from 16 with caps :doh:
 
Ill take another look now im off today. Oh and I think I may have mixed caps! Looks like they have been balanced, not on the ends like fetts but on the sides which is good as I may be able to match the rod/cap
