Hi All,

My Discovery 4 gets upset if I can't post on Landyzone so finds something to keep me posting. I have a problem with the water in fuel sensor, I think. Code says water in fuel but no water in filter. Changed filter no change. Is this a common problem or is my Disco 4 having fun with me?

Hiya

did u change just the filter or sensor as well, take the water in filter sensor connector apart and ensure it’s clean, use a multimeter set to ohms both sides of the connector to ensure the pins inside are good both sides of the connector

hope that helps a little and please let us know how u get on as can find wiring diagrams etc for u

Hi Gary,
Good to hear from you again. Am I looking for continuity between one pin and the plate in the sensor for both pins or am I looking for a resistance reading across the pins and if so any idea what ohms am I looking for? OR have I got it wrong and measuring resistance towards the electronic unit built into the filter holder and if so any idea of what reading I should expect.

hi buddy and indeed likewise

Where the connectors join so it’s testing continuity so ur able to ensure as the 2 x pins join they actually do , hope that makes sense

indeed if that’s all ok, plus as mentioned by @sierrafery ur have to replace the sensor as well, it also sends a message to the FBH , when it gets cold to prevent the fuel from waxing in the winter

also this should save u some money

hope that helps
