fitting 200tdi into series 3, trying to start engine before rebuilding rest of car.
Rebuilt injectors, new lift pump, new battery, timed, fuel bled. Will not fire but will fire on easy start but dies when easy start removed.
Anyone near to Holmes Chapel, junction 18 M6 HELP!!

Have you cracked the injectors, are you getting fuel to them ?

Is the stop solenoid working? Sounds like no fuel getting through.

Just re-read, series three has manual engine stop, 200tdi has an electrical engine stop. You will need to take a feed from an ignition live to the solenoid on the fuel injector pump.

Yes plenty of fuel and pulsing in right order

Have fitted a push switch to open solanoid to allow fuel through

Recheck the timing, especially the injection pump timing, if it's not almost spot on it wont start.
