Hi all,

i'm back from the trip now which went well apart from the odd hiccup. Didnt manage to get the axle and radius arms painted until yesterday and i would have got more done today if i hadnt of gone to Billing. All going well ill finally have some wheels under it by the end of the week, i know its been long enough.

So did yer buy loads of shiny goodies from billing :D

No although i was tempted, i spent most of the time discussing with my mate what parts he could design and build as he has access to a manufacturing unit and is interested in building parts for land rovers and im letting him test out some of the parts on mine. The first being a set of heavy duty trailing arms which im hoping to see in the next few weeks.

Ah, All the better if someone can make it for you cheaper :)
I was tempted to go, But no pennies to spend so didn't bother.

I took some cash with me in case but being the last day most of the good stuff was gone so both good and bad results really. Hopefully ill be getting in touch with duckworth landrover and ill be getting some decent bodywork off them. I really want to avoid anything with even the slightest bit of corrosion on this project so i think reasonably priced new take off stuff is the way to go

They do have some good take off stuff, But they're not the cheapest
But then good LR panels aren't cheap. I bought good secondhand and still cost me a small fortune.
Doors for example I'd be tempted to buy a set of galv ones.

Yeah, the doors are one thing which I'm going to save by putting galv skins on them, it's a shame parts are so expensive but some of the bits from duckworth are cheaper than some of the crap which is on fleabay

Slight update, finished painting radius arms and a couple of other bits, hopefully I'll get them fitted tomorrow then finish painting the axle so I may have wheels under it before the end of the week. Sorry it's such a dragged out project, but farm and uni has put a huge dent in the time available.

No lol, it's not quite Kawasaki although that's what I originally wanted, this is a slightly brighter and less creamy shade of green which I think looks better. The whole body bar roof and other black highlights is going to be the same colour

Quick update, front axle is finally finished and will be ready to fit by the end of the week!!!

Also I've cleaned up and painted the calipers accordingly

Just been out on a run today getting various parts for the farm and the Landy. Tractor needed some fresh tyres so while I was out I got the two remaining legal tyres I had off the Landy and swapped them onto a pair of 8 spokes which I painted up years ago and never used. I thought the tyres would look as naff as ever being 205s but because the rims are wider than standard they actually look quite good.

Hopefully getting a large bit on the chassis will help boost my motivation to get on with the job and get it finished ASAP!!
