Hi, I am changing my fan to an electric one on the rad. Regarding doing the change am I ok to leave the old fan removed?
 
+1 for fitting a decent gauge. Personally I can't get my 200TDi to run above 85 degrees and I haven't had a fan since fitting the engine 4 years ago. I'm not towing anything heavy or working it hard off road of course. These engines are known for running cool, if it's getting too hot it might be worth flushing the rad out.

That is pretty much what mine runs at most of the time, winter running light and it wont even get to 80.
Have had it boil in the winter working hard off road, one second normal temp, next boof heat seized, which is why I say proper temp gauge at all times.

My Tim gauge has just died after about 8 yrs use, in its defence I think I stretched the capilliary tube when removing the engine!
