No! mine sailed through mot with 2 stroke and a decat!!!!! This was week 1/2 ago!!!
I use 350cc per tank. Good luck..

That's good to know - what colour is it, by the way?

Red unfortunately - CarLube. Keep the bottle in the car so you can show them if your tank gets dipped!

You can buy low ash mineral two stroke in bulk from Morris Lubricants. a 25 litre barrel works out at £3.60p per litre inc VAT. The automotive stuff is too high spec (semi or fully synth), this agricultural 2 stroke is just the ticket. Ring Free DD 40 2-Stroke Diesel Engine Oil

Hi does anybody in GT Manchester area fancy sharing 1/2 a 25ltr drum of 2 stroke oil????
looks like it would cost around £45..... let me know...

MOT for us on Friday. Will be interesting to see what the emissions are, compared to last year's results. We've just got through our first 500ml of 2-stroke oil.

I have just up the does on mine slightly to just under 400ml on a full tank ..... engine is real smooth...no smoke...and starts just dandy even in the ice. I am doing this as it seems to drastically reduce diesel clatter on startup ..... which is great with these really cold mornings. Using boggo Sainsbury fuel.

Halfords 2 Stroke Garden Engine Oil 1L mineral oil, low ash, costs £5.99 but ...................

With a Trade card it's £1.50 less so - it's the same price as Tesco!!

Now if Halfords could give Clubcard points as well ........

As was pointed out a while back the real plus point is -

It's not RED it's GREEN Hoorah!

Just an update .... the extra dose to 400ml has definately increased torque output .... one of the test hills I use is a steep 1:10 with sharp bends with no run up etc.... only allowing max speed of 35mph .... normally my TD4 will just go up there in 4th. Now I went up with full tank of fuel and a 250kg trailor ..... wow. Engine very smooth particualrly on start up .... no extra smoke I am very impressed. In winter I am sticking with this!!!

Hi
I have been reading with interest this thread and my son has got a Vauxhall Signum 1.9 cdti would this two stroke oil be ok to use with this engine with no adverse affect.
Thanks

Hi Roshi .... I recon it would be great ..... try 300ml to a full tank .... get std 2 stroke low ash. As it happens I used to have a Saab 93 which had same engine ..... it was very tollerant of vegtable oil in summer ran it on 35% veggie it was great. By the way talk to Rover Ron he does a really good Synergy 2 for this car which gives 180bhp!!!! he recons it is fantastic ... best diesel out. Good luck keep us posted.

Still on 2 stroke running great ..... achieved 39.9mpg over 300 miles @ 65mph.
Paying £4.99 for Redline 2 stroke.

ye agree synergy a great bit of kit ran one on a 75 rover cdti bmw engine , was fantastic. great being able to set it where you want it .

Bought some for my company car, started missing a bit. Ran some injector cleaner through it for a few tanks, still the same...

Was well impressed with 2 stroke oil before, so hoping for big things. Was also getting a consistent 63mpg before, so we shall see how that works out :)

Best part was it was a freebie. Bought it with my weekly shopping. The guy at the till couldnt find the barcode (as it had fallen off the bottle) so just put it through anyway :D

just an update....

on my 6th tank now, alll running sweet, diesel knock (pinking) completely disappeared :)

and as someone had questioned on an earlier post 'how will you get on at MOT time?' mine sailed through today :D

Using 400ml to 55 lts running great ...... + have used with millers this seemed to help mpg ......... will report back.
