having just got my disco 2 and getting used to its ways on start up from either hot or cold after starting there is a audible clonk not very loud from i would say the right rear of the engine bay any thoughts everything is fine and maybe they all do it

If you put your foot on the brake pedal when starting you will feel the 'clonk' you refer to. So unless your brake pedal is connected to your starter motor it's quite normal and nothing to worry about.
I take it it's a left hooker then?:doh:
A brake pedal going clonk would be quite high on my worry list anorl.
