Manifold removal
Here's how ah did it.....
The engine...
First ah removed the hose from the air filter to the turbo...
then ah took the hose off the bottom of the the turbo...
then unbolted the oil feed pipe from the top of the turbo and where it bolts on down below......
...and moved it to one side.
Next ah took off the boost pressure pipe from the turbo....
...and moved that out of the way as well.
Then ah disconnected the front exhaust pipe....
and moved it out of the way...
then back under the bus to release the oil drain pipe....
Back up top, ah removed the two nuts holding the heater pipe on....
and undid the four nuts on top and three below the exhaust manifold (the two top middle nuts are a bit of a fiddle and ye need to pull the manifold back a bit to get them off completely). Then ah took the manifold and turbo off in one piece....
to see this....
Then ah undid the two nuts and two bolts on the inlet manifold and took the other turbo hose off and removed the manifold....
The old gasket...
The manifolds....
Ah thought ah'd better give the inlet manifold a wee clean while it was off, and gave all the facings a clean as well...
...before fitting the new gasket....
Refitting is pretty much the same as removal. Check the manual for torque settings and thats about it.
Here's some piccies of it all goin' back in....
