    Removed the cover off the top of the injection pump and the boost diaphragm is immaculate with no holes or splits whatsoever. It did have oil on top however but I suspect this is from years ago when my head gasket failed and the engine ran away...

    Done for today. The black and purple wire is for a, according to the workshop manual, optional hand brake indicator. So I left that one unconnected. The starter motor wiring and the speedo cable were a hell of a job so. Mostly done after all...

    Yep useful thank you. It was a loose earth wire. I’ve attached it to the auxiliary control panel screw and working just fine now!
